Stop going on about resources.

We will be on a par with Liverpool and Arsenal this year.

We have the most expensive STs in football..

We can Stop with that excuse now.

Won't we also have one of the biggest debts?

A lot of the the extra revenue generated by the stadium will be eaten up by paying off the stadium loan.

People are starting to question whether Poch has taken us as far as he can. I think he needs some proper signings and another year or two to show he can adapt in a game and learn from big game losses - yesterday's Mourinho performance and game management was simialr to Allegri's and Poch is very one-dimensional by comparison.

Can't help but feel that if Dier's effort from range had gone in rather than hit the post we would have seen extra time and the players' heads would have picked up, as would the fans.

I don't really follow players abroad and make no suggestions but following the semi final defeat yesterday I have firmed up my feeling that we have reached the next step and this summer has to reflect that.
A couple of simple examples, United paid £60million for Sanchez in January even though he'd have been on a free next month and he did make a difference, Liverpool paid £70 million for van Dijk in January he did make a difference, Man City even paid £50 million for walker and, like it or not, he made a difference, we would not have paid any of those fees for any of those players nor any other player that would make a difference.
We paid £40 million for Davinson Sanchez, was that a good bit of business? Yes of course it was, it was terrific and in a few years he will be an absolute monster centre back but that is also a reflection of where we are, we couldn't have gone for the big player ready to go and quite right too, however we all saw what happened yesterday and people are asking why, how and what now.
I am convinced that had we bought Sanchez in January, I know but bear with me, we would have been a better team yesterday and in the final and that's why I want this summer to be looking at that higher catagory of finished article to add to our squad, Dembele is leaving and replacing him with one for the future won't do I'm afraid, not if we want to take that next step up.
This is the time, the time is now!

Let's just say we have £150mil to spend in the Summer, that is just 3 quality players nowadays, and that is with us being creative in the market. AM's are a looooong way off from being a priority IMO and especially if Dembele goes.

As I posted a couple of weeks back, I heard LB and a CM/2 anything else was dependant on sales. That at the time, and even more so now looks to be exactly what we are crying out for.

Yes we could improve our attacking options but if that is at the expense of some real quality in the middle, it would be nonsensical IMO.
100% trix.

Priority has to be the midfield and left back now. I'll be pissed off if we prioritise/sign the likes of Bale and then don't buy or skimp on quality in the areas where we really need strengthening.

The ITK has been suggesting a mixed attitude towards CM so i'm very worried at the moment, it's all been about Malcom/Bale etc. We will still have the same problems if we don't address them.

I will take a great left back and a top class CM over Gareth Bale every day of the week.

For me it's because as soon as teams sit deep we become incredibly one paced. Eriksen has to drop deeper and our play becomes obvious and predictable. I honestly believe a player in the middle who can switch the play quickly AND help out Eriksen threading balls through would improve our attacking play immensely. ATM when we are IP against a deep sitting defence we just go side to side and back again until Eriksen comes to get it. We have players in front that have great movement but none of our CM's have the tools to find them with through balls with any sort of regularity. We need another option to keep things moving with a bit of quick thinking or to spread the play wide at pace, not one of those floated easy to defend passes Dier keeps attempting.
It's not only this, but we don't fare particularly well against being pressed either. Dier has been poor against the press and Dembele was caught dawdling a lot yesterday. That midfielder needs to be good under pressure as well and especially can't go into hiding.

We will go backwards next season if we don't get a good CM.

We do need to improve our acquisitions on the pitch. Too many average to decent workhorses and no genuine cutting edge players.

People overlooking the best CM in the world because he’s 33, Luka Modric is the perfect CM and would seriously improve our team for the first couple of seasons at the new stadium.

IMO we don't press as effectively when we play a back 4. With 3 CBs our wingbacks close down the wider CM areas.

Modric would be great but there's a possibility that he's going to end up in prison.

Pep was spot on last season when he stated we had the best fullbacks of the league in Walker and Rose. Pace and strength bombing forward at every opportunity. That was such an important part of our play. With Walker gone and Rose mentally AWOL, it has become a weakness. We’ve seen it time and time again this season that opponent managers target these areas, while the attacking threat offered has been minimal. Trippier failed to cross on 5-6 occasions yesterday. Davies offered nothing going forward either.

We need to address our fullbacks situation this summer. We may get away with what we’ve got against the majority of PL sides, but in matches where it really matters, it is our prime weekness.

I agree we need to move the ball more quickly in midfield, we take too many touches in that area or are too slow (Dembele, Dier Sissoko) but the same is true of Ali, Son and Lamella.

The other problem is that our full backs this year lack the pace of last year and therefore we always seem to be playing or trying to play thread the needle passes within the width of the penalty area which is always so congested when teams sit back. We need an alternative of “getting round the back” (to quote Barnes in World in Motion). This is what we had when Lennon and Bale were at their devestating best.

Too many of our players want to be a number 10. What about wingers that hug the touch line in those games (could be Moura if he is given that instruction)? That would the stretch play meaning teams can defend the width of their box (in the BHA game there were times they played a back 6 across the penalty area). This would then create more space for Eriksen to pass through and Ali to make late runs.

I remember Pochettino playing Lennon on the left and asking him to cut inside, back in his first season here. I think that showed that we wouldn't be seeing any true touchline wingers in his time, and that's been mostly true.

I was listening to the On The Continent podcast yesterday and one of the journalists (I think it was James Horncastle) was raving about Jean-Michel Seri. Says he’s the complete midfielder.

Could we get him?

Source: J O E

Seri suffers from chilblains, a condition that can cause painful and itchy swellings on the skin in cold weather.

Quotes from 2 months ago:-

"When it's cold I need special treatment," he said in the past when asked about a potential move away from Nice.

"I don't see myself playing in a country where it's cold. I hurt everywhere, and I struggle to train."

That might be so but there is a case to say Poch needs to evolve / adapt. We aren’t going to (consistently) beat teams that play the same way as us with deeper pockets and better players.

Rant as much as we want but I believe this is as good as it gets for Spurs UNLESS we get taken over by a country like Man City did.

Still don’t think bale is the answer for us. I think he’ll just bring more problems,

Diawara(Ndombele), Malcom, Sessegnon with Toby staying would be perfect for me.
