Yeah if you want creative, Boufal might not be it.

His main problem is distributing as he can be incredibly selfish. Both over dribbling and shooting from long odds.

We need a tricky/pacey/creative midget in the mould of Hazard/Sanchez/Sterling.

Haven't really had the time to watch much continental football recently so don't know which young up and coming player that would be.
Also, Osumane Dembele

I still see us going back in for Berahino, Dembele and possibly Rabiot.
Then a lot depends on the likes of Onomah, Pritchard and CCV as to what other business we do.
If they can step up in the next 6 months we're pretty much covered in all departments.

And it's only really Fazio going out the door.

Lacazette could be a great option. Currently outside the CL places, strong, has pace, can play as lone striker or support, with the ability to beat players and score.

Anyone know if he's the running sort who likes to press? Only question mark as far as I'm concerned. Otherwise no brainer to be seriously considering him.

Lamela has impressed me with his workrate this season and his pressing. However, I think we could probably find someone who can deliver more goals, pace and attacking potency if we get Champions League.

From what I have heard we were very confident in buying Eduardo Salvio from Benfica before his injury last summer, but he's not played all season so I can't see us taking the risk for the fee. Much like we didn't when the Hector Moreno deal never resurfaced after he broke his leg.

Obviously Mahrez would be ideal but that would be silly money.

Elsewhere, I do think we could use either an experienced or young DM to help Dier and, obviously, another centre forward.

We won't be paying large fees so the scouts need to seriously earn their corn this time. Huge opportunity to get even stronger.

I can't say it out loud because it has an air of silliness about it. But if you think about our needs, and his needs, and where we are, and what his other options are etc. etc.

Ross Barkley

Honestly, I think this is a legit idea :). If we get CL, we are in a position to offer something to these guys that they cannot get elsewhere. CL football, playing alongside other young England footballers, in a team. Of course we can't offer the money that Chelsea etc can throw at them, but there's just the possibility that Barkley and others like him will see the togetherness and spirit in our ranks and feel that they can be the best they can be with us.

Would cost an absolute fortune though .

Personally, I'd want to be looking for two or three young players (maybe a keeper?) and a really good forward. We've lauded Poch's approach at full-back, whilst recognizing the extra demands placed on that position, I think we have room for a proper CF to share the duties with Kane in a similar fashion. There is enough coming through elsewhere to plug the gaps, although it remains to be seen whether people like Winks and Ball will be ready to spell Dier at DM. If the management team don't think they can, I'd be happier if they find a really good DM to take up that position.

1. Really good CF (I want genuine competition/alternation with Kane).
2. Possibly a DM.
3. Prospects.

Couple of points. I think we need to stick with what got us here. Now we appear to be in teh CL we shouldn't just change our modus operandi and all of a sudden start trying to spunk money as it's not how much you spend it's what you spend it on.

Also in relation to Poch's penchant for picking the right type of player. While I don't want to make blanket statements but when people say we need to capitalise on the fact we are in the CL and have a bigger pond to fish in. Well I don't know if those players that wouldn now want to come to us as we have CL football are the type of players Poch will want. I reckon he would want someone to join us for us. What happens if the following season we are not in teh CL. Does that player then want to leave us? How will that affect the squad etc. People we sign should be with us mentally for teh long term not short term.

Wrt who I think we need. A striker competition for Kane if poss. Don't really care who. Liked the look of that Yedder guy from Toulouse but haven't seen him anywhere near enough, just reminded me of Aguero. Don't really mind who the 2nd striker is. Have mentioned Solanke a few times but ye not going to happen. Would like our scouts to go out and find one somewhere. How's Werner getting on?
Then third I would try Harrison in preseason. Not a massive fan of Dembele. If we want him as our Kane backup there are better around and better young striker. If as our third prefer Harrison as I think he is talented.

My knowledge base for other leauges isn't great but not a fan of the players I've seen us linked to and heard of. Never been a fan of Wanyama. Would prefer Ball or Ward to get a spot there. Coquelin came in from Champ for Arsenal Ward could do the same and is versatile and so is Ball who has improved massively since 2 years ago and is a got ball player. Also think Bentaleb could be moulded there

Don't see the point in signing a third CB. We have only used 3, again, so far this season would give CCV some practice in preseason and see how he gets on for 3rd choice CB. If we think he won't cut it, then loan him and Dier can fill in our use Ball.

Only other player I've ever considered us signing for his ability to do something different is Boufal. But 1. I can't see where he would fit, as there aren't any AMs I'd sell and we're well stocked esp with Pritchard returning 2. I heard he only wants to join a CL club which conflicts with what I have said above, 3. He would be quite expensive and along, with a striker I can't see us spending over 20m net in the summer.

Torn over signing Henry for the future. I think the guy looks really good but I really do rate Ogivlie. I think if we signed him then could loan to a Champ or PL club next season. I think he is more similar to Rose and after that season Rose would be 27 I think which is Poch's golden age and we may look to sell sadly as our fullbacks do a lot of work so he could be brought in then. But not necessary just he is more similar to Rose than Ogilvie

Why ?

Clinton and Pritchard between them cover all those options,,,,as part of a collection of AM's that includes Son, Lamela, Chadli, Onomah, Alli, Dembele and Eriksen.

Pretty covered at AM already

While Clinton is certainly pacey, he is definitely not creative. And the others are all creative but lack the the pace and acceleration of this player type.

I'm liking the suggested players, gonna try and watch a bit more of them and also Pritchard who I havent seen play since Peterborough.

If we can get this creative, rapid midget in the first team and a young hungry backup striker I'd say it'd be a good summer.

DM - Dominic Ball
Utility midfielder - Grant Ward
Turn on a sixpence playmaker - Alex Pritchard

Striker will require thought but at this stage Batshuayi or Lacazette. Not the same player but the level we should be aiming at.

All other positions to be enforced by academy.

I look around the squad and there's almost no one I want to see rid of.

Lamela is having his best season yet and fits our system well. He is 23 so would hate to see us sell someone that age when on an upward curve but hasn't peeked yet.

I really like Chadli but appreciate his work rate isn't quite right. In some games though where the high press isn't so vital an extra player with an eye for goal can be more useful than a worker. If we can get Arnautovic I'd possibly look to move Chadli on.

So this summer I'd be looking to bring in one or two quality signings. No reason why we shouldn't bid for Barkley. Everton have stagnated and the opportunity to play alongside so many English players, hopefully in the CL should be quite a draw.

Then for a striker I'd look to Ighalo.

Problem is if we had a chance of Barkley and Ighalo then we'd be looking at a spend of around £40-50m. So probably not very realistic.

I can't see where Barkley would fit in, same position as Alli and Eriksen really

We only really need a striker and DM maybe. More younguns too is always smart
