It won't happen but even if we did get both Batshuayi and Lacazette we would be able to fit them. Firstly Lacazette in my view would be better suited to wide forward than Kane's role, secondly with the FA, League and CL we cannot have Kane playing 70 games or whatever. We could easily make room for another striker like Bats and a wide forward especially if we sell in the summer.

We have been remarkably lucky with Kane not getting suspended, injured or suffering a major loss of form.

Wake up from your dream

As I said it won't happen, but so don't get why people are so worried about buying another striker or even two particularly considering we are looking at forwards who can play multiple positions. We must be the only team that currently has just one striker in the league.

Crying out loud let's make a complete French speaking team.

Lloris

Pied
Vertonghen
Alderweireld
Sidibe

Rabiot
Dembele
Lacazette
Batshuayi
Dembele

Kane (must attend language school in the summer)

Subs:
Bentaleb
Dembele
Chadli

Apparently Mason can also speak some after doing fook arl else when he spent a year there on loan.

I know the French chairmen, or certainly based on the nutter in charge of Lyon, talk utter tripe eg on asking prices, there's no way we are paying more than 25m for Batman. They want fifty million euros. Next.

Wonder if Bentaleb could be sent to Lyon or Marseiile to help secure one of these two forwards?

Add Wanyama for 8m given his contract situation then sit back and enjoy the euros...

More likely end of August I know. Did anyone look back at last Augusts results and think...

yup. we all love a bargain but it doesnt always happen. we always complain about levy not paying that bit more for that specific player with specific attributes, i believe now hes finally doing that.

we have the money for lacazette if we wanted him. but if we are opting for batshuayi, it can only means poch doesnt feel that lacazette is suited to us. notably, lack of physical presence and height, especially when dealing with long balls from our centre back and hold up play.

lacazette IS strong, but he doesnt play the same kind of physical style.

Or lacazette doesn't want to come to Spurs?!? Maybe he has offers from Madrid, psg, manure etc

WHY do we need to sell players that are seemingly happy to be on the bench and cover for 1st choice?

Because when we need to add some creative flair from the bench or if players like Alli get suspended or injured then all of a sudden our first 11 starts to look a little weaker.

I think Lacazette is a bit of a flat-track bully. Always performs against the poorer sides, never against the bigger ones when it really matters
It's Ligue 1. So basically he either performs against PSG or he doesn't is what you're saying.
@Karl Emil You gave me a disagree, but you've gotten your facts wrong.

Lacazette has scored against 4th place Nice, 5th place St. Etienne (hattrick), 7th place Rennes, etc.

So again you're basically saying he didn't score against PSG (or Monaco) as the other big club is Lyon whom he plays for.

30 mill for a Batshuayi kind of player would have been obscene a couple of years ago.
Thing is, it's not a couple of years ago anymore. The inflated football economy has once again taken a new leap,
and 30 mill now in 2016, sadly, is in balance with the even stronger football economy IMO.

Also consider a 30m player from Ligue 1 is going to receive far lower wages than a 30m player from the Prem. There are some savings there.

JJ seems to be chiming in with Batshuayi

Also we need to make sure the current 1st don't get complacent. Signing strong players in their positions can also make them raise their game. Remember how Lennon improved when we signed Bentley, or more recently how Rose and Walker responded to the signings of Davies and Trippier.

I would dearly love a new full back or two. And if we can't manage that, then I would like to ply Davies and Trippier with whatever the gang at Leicester are having.

Am I right in thinking that Batshuayi plays a little like Bony? I haven't seen much of him, but that's the impression I got.
