IF true, I'd imagine Andersen

Yeah has to be Andersen or outside chance Sabitzer. I'd love if it was someone rogue like Locatelli, but it's been clear for months we're locked in on the first two names and unless Paratici rules them out, it'll be one of them.

Andersen barely gets a game for Denmark, tbf - would seem strange to refer to him by his international experience.

I'm praying it's us but I fear it could also be Chelscum as they're not getting Haaland this year :(

Article says it is us but that we're willing to pay 60m, which I doubt (unless Kane is off).

If we were well-run and had money it would actually be a very shrewd move if we think this is the guy to eventually replace Kane irregardless of whether he goes this season or not. Worst case you give this guy a season to adapt and hit the ground running when Kane leaves.

We won't do that though obviously.

Yeah for that sort of money it would likely mean Kane is off.

Let's see if it starts to break in the UK press.

Probably bollocks but if Kane is off, this guy would be high on list of replacements

Isak would be my top choice but think he's probably out of reach now after this Euros. Daka has gone to Leicester and he would have been another good shout.

This guy does seem to have everything to succeed in the Prem (apart from a right foot) and he looks about 30 so could hopefully step up if Kane did leave. Juve fans are desperate for him and they know more than me about Italian footy so he must be decent.

Ideally Vlahovic replaces Vinicius but not likely. If we lost Kane and Bale doesn't renew maybe a combination of Vlahovic, Thurham and Sabitzer would replace the lost goals and assists. I just want that first signing over the line.

Would be astute to get somebody like him in, just in case Kane does leave either this year or next. If he takes up the mantle, €60m would look a snip. Paratici would know him well, too - so if he's driving transfers I wouldn't be that shocked if he was the main target.

£50m. Seems doable.

Wouldn't be up for it. We have so many positions we should invest in and although Vlahovic looked promising but I am not sure he can just go in and deliver worth that amount of money. Have a bit Jovic in my mind who excelled at Frankfurt and could not step up at Madrid.

We need to invest in a striker sooner or later. And they tend to be the most expensive position. If he’s any good, he’s worth the money (regardless of what he costs). If he’s not, it’s a waste when we could’ve bought X player or Y player instead.

All very ominous when it comes to Kane if we did bring in Vlahovic for the figures being mentioned. Ordinarily, no way we'd pay £50-60m odd for another striker with Kane around imo, even more so in the current climate.

However, probably an fears/acceptance Kane is on his way at some stage. If not this summer, then very likely next year when he'll have 2 years left on his contract. Maybe the idea is to get someone in now, give him a year to settle/acclimatise before Kane heads off next summer.

Not watched enough of Vlahovic to know how good he is/can be but if/when Kane does move, would be serious pressure for a young guy moving to another country with only one good season behind him tasked with filling the boots of one, if not the best, striker in the world. I thought he maybe someone Dortmund would bring in if Haaland moves.

Agree. It’s smart forward planning. The usual Spurs way would be to resist selling Kane then eventually do it only to be left with lots of money with few good options with clubs knowing we are desperate. This fixes the problem before it emerges, and if we keep Kane for another season then his replacement gets valuable settling in time. Every striker signing would be a risk, other than maybe Haaland but he‘s out of our league.

Whether we sell Kane or not, I think we need to bring in a new CF who can lead the line. Kane seems to be evolving into a number 10/support striker and I think that has as much to do with his body as tactics. If we could get a season with Kane behind Vlahovic then that we would be ideal but it just doesn't seem to be the Spurs way so not overly optimistic this could happen.
