Two new centre backs won’t come cheap. and not huge amounts of quality available. Especially without CL appeal and money. Obviously who we buy may well need to be adjusted to what system we want play primarily. But I also think how much business we do will depend on whether Kane leaves or not and how much we have to spend

I think we could do a lot worse than Adam Armstrong. Was a huge talent at youth level but took a bit of time to find his feet at senior level. Has been fantastic for Blackburn, especially this season and has the added bonus of being homegrown. He can play anywhere across the front 3 and is out of contract in 2022 so wouldn't cost a fortune either.

If Kane goes, I really hope the proceeds don’t get pissed up the wall again. I’m rapidly losing interest in watching us as it is and have no faith in the board to get rid of the players that need to go nor bring in anyone decent.

Levy will probably use the sale of Kane to offset losses from the pandemic.

Absolute must buys:

- at least 2 CB
- at least one RB
- Sabitzer in midfield
- A replacement for Bale who is going to come in and hit the ground running

sell: aurier, Sanchez, dier, sissoko, Dele, winks and send bale back.

And that’s just for the summer...by January we’d need more work to the squad

Buy MIlenkovic who isn't anything special and Botman who won't probably fit the style of play of new manager? Yeah, definitely seems very smart.
Like the club give a shit about milenkovic’s quality? His contact length is probably the only thing that we’d scout

Adding him and Michael olise wouldn’t be that bad Unlikely to cost much, good resale if needed.

Why do we need to replace Bale? He's clearly shown he can get goals and that's what you want from players in that position. The important thing is to strengthen defensively and in midfield so we aren't reliant on our world class forwards to be able to defend competently.

Well going by another club we need not mention it does seem that spending £200 million in a single transfer window does pay off, it'd be nice if we thought about trying it for a change.

We have over £100m in 3 out of the last 4 years.

Pereira. Said it a couple of weeks ago. Quality player.
Yeah, I have liked the look of him. Good little bargains should be had on technical players who could fit into a number of systems and would work in a proactive team. The likes of Doherty & Vinicius, who only fit into one system, need to be avoided.

If our recruitment can be on point this summer, there's plenty of decent opportunities out there. But as we've seen in recent years, good little punts have gone elsewhere.

Bissouma seems to be on the move in the summer and is such a fantastic player. Doubt we'd be in for him as we have Skipp and PEH but he has all the attributes for a modern midfielder.

If we did get Potter, wonder if he would want us to go in for him?

I'm a big fan of Bissouma, my question would be whether he's more similar in player type to Hojbjerg and Skipp rather than an actual sitting DM himself. For Brighton he has Pascal Groß next to him similarly in the way that Hojbjerg had Romeu. I could see Bissouma fitting in next to Fabinho for example for a better balance where as we could probably do with that Fabinho type unless Hojbjerg can change his style possibly.

Having looked at our situation, I think we're in for a tough couple of transitional years where we're going to struggle to get all the players we need for the problem areas and we're going to need a manager who is going to have to be adaptable rather than have a set way of playing.

Toward that end I think the best thing we can do is find players who can play multiple positions comfortably in order to give the new man in charge maximum flexibility whilst we begin the rebuild.

The two players I can see us going for who we've been linked with and fit that mould are Sabitzer from Leipzig and Milenkovic from Fiorentina. Both are coming into the final 12 months of their contracts.

Sabitzer is the main one for me. He can play CM, AM but also can play on the wing. The reason I see this to be advantageous is because I believe that keeping Bale another 12 months is a great idea but we need to accepting he is a player who realistically should mostly be used as a flat track bully. So signing Sabitzer could be the perfect rotation option with Bale knowing that we can also fit them into the same team given Sabitzers flexibility. I think that'd represent a compromise in terms of balancing the team vs weaker teams and against teams where we need 11 players working their socks off.

The other one Milenkovic, from what I understand, he's able to play both CB and RB, I think again this could just enables us to find a temporary solution whilst money is tight during covid and gives us flexibility. Would also mean transitioning between a back 3 and back 4 would be easier. The one issue with him is of course that he's a right sided defender and we ideally need a left sided defender. There's talk of the club wanting to sign 2 central defenders this season so I think signing one who can also play fullback would be advantageous.
