Thuram kids looks pants. Come on guys. Technical players is what we need. Not some big lump.
I think maybe you need to do some more research/watching if that’s your opinion. Very technical player on the ball despite his size. His footwork is great for someone of his stature. He wouldn’t be utilized on the wing primarily if he wasn’t technically accomplished.

Played football all my life, blokes got a horrendous first touch. And after the step overs looks clueless. £30m ? This is why we are where we are. Go for prem ready. Mattaus pereira. Guys gonna be a star. Already playing in the prem. also Thuram is not technical. He’s a lump with stepovers.

ive just watched a video of him, and he looks average at best. His second touch in the prem is a tackle.

That's fair. I still think the lack of a secondary midfielder who could find a pass to take the load of Eriksen was a big reason for our shortcomings under Poch. But I'd happily bring back the steel in midfield if it could get us back to where we were.

Also, if Fonseca wants to play a 3-4-3 and we get really attacking wingbacks that duo is interesting.
I don't think Hojbjerg is quite as defensively minded as his games under Mourinho suggested, after Mason took over he seemed to get more involved in the attacking side of the game, and if I recall did a fairly decent job of it. He'd be great in a midfield 3 alongside another similar player to himself.

Reports say Napoli will open talks to sign Sissoko in the coming days. Great news.
I thought he was great in our CL run. Still like watching the Dortmund highlights, with his penetrative runs from deep.

But that is, literally, living in the past.

Last season was worse than bad for him. Shying away from the ball is unforgivable. If someone offered £10m, I think Levy should bite their hand off, just to get rid.

Agreed. I like Sissoko, but he simply is not good enough on the ball - which always puts us under pressure.

I gave up when 18 year olds were giving me the runaround every Sunday morning, but mostly when I managed to fall over when no-one was within 20 yards of me ☹

It will be interesting to see how things develop this summer and how we re shape the squad. Its safe to say our squad is very bloated and and we need to sell quite a few and replace with few player yet better and younger with a higher potential.
You would also feel that the likes of skipp, sess, and even clarke will be members of the squad next season.

At a minimum id like to see....

Dier(15m), foyth(15m), aurier(10m), davies(8m), sissoko(10m), winks(15m), lamela(10m) all leave. Circa 83m.

Those 7 players can be replaced by 2 very good quality players for the first team. The wages will also help finances. Id see a first 11 quality cb and rb as priority. Perhaps skriniar and aarons would be good candidates.

After that who knows what will happen. Will bale stay another season? Will kane be made to stay?

See for me I believe we will most likely go with a 343 formation with the new guy and how many we buy will be totally dependant on Kane leaving. If he stays then I can see us bringing in 2 CBs, 1 RB and 1 Wing forward. So Andersen, Milenkovic, Celik and Thuram for example.

I would then like to see the following leave:

Aurier, Foyth (already), Dier, Sanchez, CCV, Winks, Sissoko, Lamela, Lucas.

This would then leave the squad with:

G - Lloris, Hart, Austin/Whiteman

RB - Celik, Doherty
LB - Reguilon, Sessegnon
CB - Andersen, Milenkovic, Rodon, Toby, Davies, Tanganga

CM - PEH, Skipp, Ndombele, GLC
AM - Dele, Son, Thuram, Bergwijn
FW - Kane, Scarlett/Parrott

Now looking at that I’d say we are short in central midfield and also another wing forward so could add Sabitzer and Gonzalez to the ins considering we have been linked with both.

Lots of players who can play in multiple positions and strengthen our shoddy defence. Here is hoping……

Does anyone genuinely think we will get close to 10m for Sissoko? He's 32 in August and a player that relies on his physicality. I think we'd be fortunate to get 5m for him personally.
