Jesus, did Defoe sleep with everyone's sister or something? Played okay. Very unlucky to hit the bar twice. Should have scored but at least his movement created chances.

Having said that - how would Soldado like some of that service? Not least Townsend playing on the LEFT and immediately putting stuff on a plate for poachers. He must never play on the right again.

Better - much better

Still not stuck on Holtby

Would like to see Lamela or Townsend in that position

Think Soldado would have finished 2 or 3 tonight if he had a chance. Townsend was excellent on the left. Kyle Walker was unbelievably good today. Love what we saw from him.

Players that should be criticised far less on here…

Naughton. The bloke's our sub right back. He's never gonna be Cafu. Most of his chances to play in the league come at left back, and I honestly don't think he's anywhere near as bad at it as people make out. He was really good today.

Lennon. We all know his flaws, but when he gets a run of games, he always hits this kind of form. Unbelievable work rate in the last few minutes.

Walker was also immense today, on the form of his life at the moment!

A good 3 points and a much better, positive 2nd half.

Really must take our chances though instead of relying on the ref to miss a handball by Sandro. We need to punish teams like Sunderland to make our goal difference look a lot better.

Like I've said though, a good 3 points and a much improved attacking performance in the 2nd half

PLAYER REACTION- Sunderland 1-2 Tottenham
Tottenham defender Michael Dawson on Sky Sports: "It was massive, we have had a big game at Fulham and a big game today and two big results. It shows the togetherness of this squad to come back from the disappointment at Man City.

"When you lose 6-0 it's not good but we have shown a real character to come back. We got a lot of criticism that we don't score enough goals but with the quality we have in the dressing room we will always score and we should have had more goals today.

"Nothing has changed in our belief since that defeat to City, we still believe we are going to have a good season, we still believe we can finish in the Champions League places."

Good solid away win with a make shift defence, still people aren't happy

Like the Fulham game, yes they are bottom but largely down to the di canio shambles so it's a bit short sighted to look at it like that. Should have scored more, the people's champ Defoe yet again blunders his way through 90 mins

I thought Holtby was excellent today, always made himself available for the ball, worked his nuts off, was more composed than normal, played a few nice incisive passes play Townsend there and it's another licence to shoot.

Sorry but AVB has made some of you so called fans look like mugs this week.
Some hilarious reactions to the team sheet with the injuries. Let's have some men step forward and say well done Etienne Capoue. Well done Kyle naughton. Well done Paulinho.

Most importantly well done AVB. :)) to those that backed the team I love you all!!!
