First reaction is that we got away with that one.
An own goal out of nothing to put us back on track
and then a great finish by Lennon who was our most dangerous player even before he scored.
When we start playing it around the back four on 56 minutes then I think the tactics are wrong.
Bale and L ennon had the beating of them and we should have continued to press for a third goal.
Adebayor should have scored two.We looked too casual and lethargic
and such a slow build up especially Dembele gives teams the time to organise their defence.
We made it all look a bit desperate when really it wasn't.
Great three points accepted
On reflection and having now forgotten the number of times I swore at the TV in the second half
when we were fannying around at the back and missing chances at the front
this was a good all round performance away from home.
We kept the ball well and moved it efficiently rather than excitingly
but it did the job and third at the end of the year is well above expectations.
Add in that we went behind just before half time but didn't panic thanks to Cuellar's og.
They are a much better team than Villa and were on a mini roll.
So for 'casual and lethargic' read 'patient and methodical'.
Wonderful what a good night's sleep can do.
But when Walker and Dawson start slowing the play down
and passing to each other it makes me nervous.

Goals on Sunday, who tend to be - in my eyes - very fair and balanced, have just been praising us and called us 'the real deal'. Nice to hear a bit of praise!

Don't expect us to carry on this way, I am sure there will be more blips but the signs are encouraging and I really hope Levy decides to back the manager and helps us kick on both in Jan and the summer.

I'd be more than happy to see a couple of genuinely promising youngsters join the club in January, in much the same way as Sandro did. Unless we're dead lucky, it's unlikely that any new signing will be capable of making a genuine impact before the end of the season. (I think we've been very fortunate that Dembele managed to find his feet so quickly after a deadline-day transfer, and it's been no surprise that Dempsey and Siggy are only starting to show a return to their real form after half a season of adapting to their new roles.)
