I'm with SP on this, i massively rate Levy, but he missed a trick last January IMO and whilst we are doing well so far this season i just can't see how anyone can argue with the fact that we need a striker and that it is long overdue.

But according to Redknapp's own words, we could have bought Suarez last January and HE didn't exercise that option. Redknapp also stated that we bid for Carroll last January as well didn't he ?

Both of which suggests that Levy was prepared to spend money. I just think that it has been a case of Redknapp's target's not always meeting Levy's criteria (by that I mean unaffordable, over priced or holding poor residual value etc), players that meet both Levy's and Redknapp's approval being out bid, messing around or unavailable or players that are available being not good enough to improve us.

There are very few players out there that fit our fiscal policy, are readily available and would guarantee to improve our first team.

We all know we will be be left wanting if Adebayor gets injured, but what we need is an understudy nearly as good, who we can afford, who would be prepared to come in and be an understudy. That's a tough remit to fill.

I can think of a couple of names like Zamora or Kuyt who could fit that bill, but neither represent value or good future prospects as both are 31.

Who could we buy who won't be an instant write off of the fee and wages, would be good enough to do the job Adebayor does, but will be happy sit on the bench and wait for Adebayor to miss games ?

Does Levy get his suitcases from Q branch? The type with knives in the sides, ammo in the lining, and some kind of stun gas that eminates when a deal turns anti-Levy's liking.

From Levy with love...

Would like us to go for Moenchengladbach's Patrick Herrmann.

Not yet 21, plays on the right of midfield and scored a brace in Gladbach's 3-1 win over Bayern last night. Marco Reus scored the other and Herrmann looks like he's going to be going in the same class as him.

If we sell Pav can we have Steven Fletcher. I am totally serious, I think he would do a great job for us. Plus he is ugly as sin and ugly footballers need to make a comeback. Yeeooo

looks like kenwyne jones is available on the cheap -- would be more effective than pav and maybe the relationship between pulis and redknapp could help get it done quickly.

jones can fill that target man/hold the ball striker role...
