I like Tom Carroll a lot as a player but unfortunately, for the life of me I can't think when or where he is likely to get any meaningful game time at WHL. IMO he is the closest we have to Eriksen in his (potential) ability to pick passes in the 10 position, but he'd be behind the likes of Lamela, Chadli and probably Winks and Onoma too by now.

Kinda get where you are coming form but your sentiment echoes exactly how I felt about one sir Harry Kane not all too long ago.

Just glad he is getting the opportunity to develop at the top level and hopefully will do so to the extent he will become a regular for us.

Get that completely but.......Kane was up against a wildly inconsistent and disruptive Adebayor and goal shy Soldado. Much tougher for Carroll to get past his competition IMO.

So, really it's a non story - we will think about for the summer, but not now. That could apply to most players at almost every club!

If we offload some of our other CM's I'd like to see Tom Carroll back at The Lane fighting Bentaleb and Mason for a central spot. Three young hungry players pushing each other to improve sounds like a good idea to me. It could only be good for the team.
