That and our shit no-nothing fans giving him abuse whenever he was picked.
“He’s come to familiar surroundings and is very central to the way we play,” Curtis told talkSPORT. “We play him in that no.10 shirt and I’m not sure Spurs used him to the best of his strengths, but he’s been terrific for us, not only for his ability on the ball, but he works extremely hard as well.
Right up our street then.
Pity such a big club as ours has replaced mid table Premier League players with Championship players now.Good mid table player, that is his level
I think he was a victim of our terrible scouting and recuritment policy in recent times where we have been buying players based on their indivdual statistics and perceived values/resale values instead of focusing on how they will fit into our squad and complement one another to build the strongest possible unit
As a result we ended up with too many similar components, not enough players to do what needed to be done to play to the strengths of others and get the best out of one another
As a result we ended up with so many square pegs in round holes (sig being one) and none of the players really got to shine (until Sherwood set the team up to play to the strengths of Ade and Erkisen.....at the expense of the middle and defensive areas)
The squad was and still is so very unbalanced due to this pathetic transfer activity and as a result so many of our players were really able to perform to their capabilities
