good luck england! it's on a hard bouncy pitch unfortunately because Aus have the fiercer attack. but england have a good balanced attack and combined with uncharacterstically sharp fielding this tournament, i think can keep Aus to a par score.
The pace generated by the pitch and bowlers will, or at least should, suit our batsmen. Over the course of this competition there hasn't been much in it between our batsmen and the aussies but I feel our bowlers have been more consistent.
Overall, there's not much in it if anything. It should be a cracker! Win or lose, we look like we've got a team at last.
i dunno A&C, this is the fastest attack in the competition and in the semis you had nothing other than mali's wierd slinging to deal with. i hope you're right though
As A&C says, our batsmen are much more comfortable with pace on the ball and they will still look to take on Steven Smith.
I can't wait to get down the pub for this one. It should be a cracker of a match between the two best sides in the tournament (it makes a nice change that this has happened!) and i really hope that it lives up to its billing.
I think today will come down to how well England bowl and whether the Aussies can get to grips with the changes in pace and length that we have bowled so far.
They have such a powerful attack that it is essential we don't bowl to their strengths, ie the way that Pakistan kept bowling length and short balls down the leg side to Hussey.
