There are probably millions of photos of WHL in existence, and hundreds more will be taken today. The vast majority of them will be from the seat of the person taking them but that only tells part of the story of WHL. It'd be a shame for us to forget the parts that people don't often photograph, the areas inside the stadium, the concourses, the concessions, and the betting windows, the stairs, the paint, the doors and all the bits no one cares about right now. These will all be gone and it'd be a shame for all those things to exist only in the memory of people who were there. If you're taking photos please remember those parts too.

Probably the best place for this given the photo. I won't be there today but will be watching on from across the water. Had many memorable days in the old ground. I've been a lifelong fan and seen Spurs play in many away games over the years before my first ever game at the Lane. Had never seen Spurs win a game until 2005, spent many years seeing them in away grounds such as Highfield Road, Villa Park, Anfield and Goodison. It was ironic that my first visit to White Hart Lane ended in defeat to Bolton in 2004, the day Bill Nic passed, can still remember the crowd standing to applaud Bill as Bolton took the lead.

It was all wins from there on in, bar a game under Jol where I found myself in the East stand surrounded by a load of Asian tourists in Man Utd jerseys, we lost that time 2-1 thanks to our Korean full back being tackled by Rooney to score Utd's winner. That same season I was there for our last home game against Botlon when Aaron Lennon scored the winner to have us dreaming, pre-lasagna-gate.

Anyway, its probably ironic that my most memorable night at the lane was as an away supporter, when my local club, Shamrock Rovers dared to dream of claiming the biggest of scalps and took the lead into the South Stand, which for the first time ever was filled on both tiers by away support. So in memory of that memorable night, today I'll be wearing that same shirt I wore that night.

Great memories, can say without doubt that the new ground won't be the same, but that's a given. I'll even miss the obstructed view pillars. Buzzing for the new ground, tentative about Wembley, just hope to god they get rid of the cheesy Star Wars walk in music.

That used to be my seat behind that post a few years ago.
Never sat in it once, always stood up in block 31 at the back until yesterday.
