What a load of bollx............decent about 2 years ago when he used to play, old slow and not good enough anymore

I'll eat my hat If we're seriously looking at him, much rather stick with Daws who's miles younger. Both would be liable for a similar amount of mistakes at present and Daws will only improve.

I actually meant as a stand in/squad player. But now you mention it, yes, better than having a Ledley who never plays. Not better than Woody though.

MILES YOUNGER, YES 3 YEARS IS MILES! Ben Haim is 26, in his prime for a defender i would suggest. Dawson has been a liability for 80% of this season, do the deal. he can replace rocha & gardner, wouldnt need to adjust to the Prem or London and would cost <5mill. We'd then have as CBs: King, Woody, Kaboul, Ben Haim, Dawson. Kaboul could probably go on loan then to start with

At the very least could be a Naybet ? No ?

Look at what Nicky Butt did to Spurs a month ago , practically thrashed us single handled . Every time a player got near him he nobbled them , completely fairly .

Like it or not Tottenham are still at a stage where they need someone who will make the opposition think before they try any nonsense in our box .

I take your point about getting someone younger and better but Spurs have overspent in the last 2 windows and are not as profitable as it might seem .

This stuff about him being old is nonsense--he could replace Dawson as Ledders' stand-in any time; its time for Daws to move on...Tal Ben-Haim is not only a replacement but an improvement.

Relatively important point made there considering people seem to have just decided he's 'old' and gone with it despite the actual facts.

Would be a good signing for us. He's a good centre back (Mourinho is a pretty good judge of players afterall) and can also play left back which is a position we need a bit of cover in. Furthermore he knows what the premiership is all about and he wouldn't cost that much.

Him, Woodie and two more would be good. Sadly I just don't think we can rely on King anymore.

Anyone remember what length of contract he signed with Chelski? They got him on a free but the length of the contract remaining will (partly) determine the price. He's clearly not indispensible to them but he may not be as cheap as we all assume.

I think we could do a lot worse but I wouldn't spend more than £5M.

A good solid experienced defender and wouldn't cost the earth. Exactly what we need and would bite Chelsea's hand off for his signature if he's interested in coming to Tottenham!

He is about the best defender that clubs like Tottenham , Newcastle , West Ham and Villa could hope to sign and some in Europe too .

I can see a bidding war ensuing .
