Fredrikstad's £4m-rated striker Tarik Elyounoussi is being watched by Tottenham, Blackburn and Wigan after firing his side to the top of the Norwegian league. (Daily Mail)

I'm, well, so excited!

Isn't Spursking from Norway too? a scout from Norway must surely have an indepth knowledge of such a player i.e. the top scorer of the team top of the league (only if he is black of course)

he is an exciting player.. not sure if he's prem quality yet, but he is very quick and likes to take on players, also he is just as good on the right wing. He has a lot of potential, thats for sure. if he can make it for spurs i have some doubts about. when thats said, id love for us to buy him

edit:btw, he's got maroccoan (sp?) roots, so not long before we hear from spursking. also, id say he is more of a winger than a striker.

£4m seems alot for someone who is not yet Prem quality, (although not as much as Kaboul etc, so depends on potential)

If he is more of a winger, would this be on the right ot left? and in the fast and tricky mould (lennon) or the cultured crosser (Beckham/Bentley)

Fast and tricky. But not worth more than £1,5-2m right now. At 20 he's not yet played for Norway A.

Scoutingmanagement.moon.0 no longer covers Norwegian players. You obviously missed the dramatic announcement last time I posted it, so here it is again.

Damn, I dont know how I missed this revelation.... I am an avid viewer of the moo.no scouting sensation.

Many thanks for the update, sad news indeed. Atleast we can still see the best emerging talent from the Coast of Ivory and French non league teams, kids sunday teams and pub football matches.

Very exciting player! Could be the mutts nutts if he continue his development. Pacy and tricky winger/striker who makes his debut for Norway A (as the national coach has promised him) next month. If we snap him up now, he would go for 3-4 mill. Wait 2 years and hes worth 8....... One for the future, but as we all know...the future is bright, the future is lilywhite!!!

right side i think.. fast and tricky, direct, goalscorer. I cant imagine that he would cost anything more than 4M, more realistic around 3M..

I know nothing about this chap, but he sounds like the sort of chap we should be scouting for for the fourth striker role: a youngster with potential who will not go mardy if he is not a regular starter; and if he can provide another option on the flanks all the better.

By the way, does anyone know how our last Moroccan wunderkind is getting on, El (consonant please Carol) Hamdouai?

Hammy's played OK in the couple of AZ games I've seen, and he seems to have stayed injury-free and played a fair bit, but they've had a mare of a season. Rumour has it that he could shortly be reunited with Martin.

Lol, I wrote about him in general footie just a few days ago

Tarik Elyounoussi - 20 year old Fredrikstad striker (I wrote 19 in the thread but that was wrong). Moroccan descent but a Norwegian U21 international and almost definitely in the full squad, probably even a starter, for the May friendlies unless he gets injured. Small, incredibly quick and very hard to deal. Three goals in the first three games this season (3 in 4 now but again played very well this weekend and Fredrikstad's win put them top of the table), he really has grown and matured over the winter break, his movement is very clever and he can create them as well as score them. Can play on either wing in a 4-3-3 but is best as a striker in a 4-4-2. It's possible that he will leave for a bigger league this summer, but next summer is much more likely. Will be part of the fulcrum of the Norwegian national side before too long and for years to come.

I kind of disagree with sigurdl. The way he's played so far this season would suggest to me that a 'wandering striker' role in a 4-4-2 would be his natural position even though he is a more than competent winger, but of course it's always good to be able to play in several positions. He can play both left and right wing but used to play on the right when he was selected there.

If we would actually buy him this summer I'd say that he needed a full year to develop further and we should only really use him as an impact player late on. Can't see him as a PL starter yet but he probably will be given time.

EDIT: After reading the various articles posted I just want to make one thing clear: Fredrikstad did not win the equivalent of the League Cup, there's no such thing in Norway. They won the Norwegian FA Cup.
