If Blackburn and Wigan are after him he must be great

To be fair Blackburn have a very good recent record in bringing in little known or under valued players who then go on to double or triple in value

Pederson, Bentley, McCarthy, Santa Cruz off the top of my head.

All signings that if we had made we probably would have been moaning at at the time yet atleast a few have them I have seen memebers of this site begging for since playing for blackburn (at one time or another)

So maybe if the likes of Blackburn and Wigan are after him it is not as damning a valuation of his ability/potential as it would seem on surface value.

Edit: add to this, 2 years ago fans at teams like Man U/Chelsea/Arsenal would have probably turned their nose at if they had been linked to Berbatov (with comments like If Spurs want him.....) yet 2 years on I bet those same fans would have a very differnt valuation.

My comment was just off the cuff. MGP was consistently linked with Man Yoo before Souness bought him. Bentley was well known as an up and coming youngster after his fleeting displays in the FA cup with Woolwich then a good loan spell at Norwich, McCarthy was a well known name over Europe and so was Sant Cruz. But fair play to Sparky for talking 3 of them into moving to Blackburn, but also for getting them for a very knock down rate.

I wasn't criticizing your comment, it was amusing.

I was just wanted to make a point about the fact that certain clubs of lower levels are after a player doesnt necessarily mean the player is not worth our attention and your previous post provided a perfect link to introduce said point.

All the players mentioned were known quanities no doubt, still there were not the levels of iterest for the from higher placed clubs and they were not valued higher hense the releatively low transfer fees they were brought in for.

If he and Kaboul are together in the team, we'll have to name them Jonah I and Jonah II. The name Younous is Arabic for Jonah.

Not sure anything over £2mil is worthwhile - seems like a gamble to me. Get him to train with us for 1-2 weeks and see how he deals with senior football (e.g whether he could skin our fullbacks).
