Only played 24 league games since start of last season, don't we have enough players we can't rely on already

Apparently quoted 50mil.. not sure that's a reasonable figure.
Yea that is too much but better pay up say £40mil for a player of actual quality rather than continually wasting 20-30mil over and over on shit like we have done in that spot ever since Walker left.

With his injury record it just doesn’t make sense for us to buy him at that price. Fantastic player but only a club such as Chelsea, Newcastle, or City could afford to splash £50m on someone who is so frequently unavailable. Whoever we bring in at the RWB position needs to be reliable.

Very true to be fair. We probably can’t afford to the take the risk but injuries aside he’s exactly what we need and far more of an all round RWB than Traore etc

Definitely a good player though... Questionable fitness record... Stamina is good, so is it dodgy hamstrings. ?

Again I question our scouting network. I cannot believe anyone with half a brain could not spot that this lad has it even 3 years ago. Sticks out like a sore thumb ffs.

Love his energy but we already have one wingback on the left that is out 80% of the year with a hamstring problem ,we might not want to take a punt on this one if it is not cheap.

Yea but for that one game a season that Lamptey and Sess were fit we’d be good to watch ?

What would you have our scouting team do exactly? He was at Chelsea and got sold to brighton as they had Reece James, they would never have sold him to us, then Brighton had him play a total of 8 games in his first season, 11 in his 2nd, he's had 8 starts this season.

I'm absolutely curious as to what you think our scouting network has done wrong here, what could be done differently exactly? Other than spot him at 8 years old before Chelsea snagged him that is.

24 EPL games + 1 serious hamstring injury doesn’t equal anywhere near £50m.
It does when Brighton have zero reason to sell and he’s young English and has a high ceiling. As @Trix always says. A players value is what the club say it is, so if they want 50m they can charge 50m and we have to pay it if we want him.

You don't have to be a medical expert to understand that the amount of time he's missed through injury in 3 seasons at brighton make their 50 mill valuation a huge risk. Don't think anybody would deny he's a quality player.

Sorry, must’ve missed that 50m valuation. Ok bit steep. How many games has he missed with hamstring problems?

You just need to type in google Lamptey and 50 to see all the various reports regarding the valuation I'm afraid, I'd love us to sign him but at that price it's extremely steep. I'd love it to be wrong.
