Unplayable. no striker in the world is unplayable anymore. the last truely unplayeable CF was THE Ronaldo. The rest all have more than enough shitty games. Eto, torres, drogba, rooney, C.Ronaldo, van pirse, fabiano etc etc.. even Messi so far this season. So Defoe and Keane are certainly not unplayable.

We're getting slightly hung up on the literal definition of unplayable now when it's a throw-away comment used by managers. The point though is that we're talking about at their absolute best.

Henry used to be like that now and again and def THE Ronaldo ......and probably Eto, C Ronaldo, Messi

I wouldn't put Defoe anywhere near them on average of course

That third Ronaldo goal against Santos. Magic.

Gomes
Corluka King Woodgate BAE
Lennon Palacios Jenas Kranjcar
Pav Defoe

I just want to see Pav get a game. Would be nice to see King finish one too.

Isn't it normal for him not to train? not that i dont trust POTL as he has passed on some good info, just thought King turned up on the last training session before a game and that was him

This just starts the old Ledders debate off again, yet another game he will miss, and Spurs miss to get a regular partnership going...........

I wouldnt mind us playing Pav with Defoe instead of Crouch. When Defoe was out I didnt mind Crouch running around but after watching the past 3 games I became more and more frustrated at watching spurs lack of imagination going forward (chip long to crouch, pray for lucky head on to path of Keane) boring boring boring.

with King, Modric and Bassong all out - and i guess lennon should be back:

I am guessing...

----------- Gomes -----------
Corluka - Woodgate - Dawson - Ekotto

Lennon - Jenas - Huddlestone - Krankjar

------Defoe - Crouch ---------

subs: Alnwick, Hutton, Palacios, Bale, Bentley, Keane, Pav

(Keane rested after extra time heartbreak, Palacios - was he away with hondurous even tho they have quallified? i reckon Harry will have been working with all the England boys as they were available for training mid-week - and Krankjar provided much better balance to the team when he came on last match in a return to 4-4-2)

Crouch, why? Long ball football, poor results, why do people want him to start?

Why I ask you?

agreed. I don't trust any of them to resist humping it long at every opportunity at the moment. Bench him as a plan B and take another look at him as a starter when Luka is back and firing.

Why can't our players understand that theyon't have to lump it up to Crouch at every opportunity? It's not like he is bad on the deck, I feel sorry for him as it does him no favours at all, as well as being detrimental to the team.

looks like we are going to have some width and pace again for this match!

Aaron Lennon is back for Sunday's clash against Wigan at White Hart Lane.

The flying winger has missed the games against Everton, Arsenal and Sunderland after picking up an ankle injury against Stoke back on October 24. The injury also ruled him out of any involvement in England's friendly against Brazil last weekend.

Harry Redknapp confirmed that 'Azza' was ready to return after training on Friday.

Central defender Sebastien Bassong is back in the frame after damaging a hamstring against Arsenal on October 31 while goalkeeper Jimmy Walker is also training again after a wrist problem.

That's perfect timing with fellow keeper Carlo Cudicini now absent with wrist and pelvic injuries as he recovers from his recent road accident.

Carlo has been discharged from hospital today (Friday) - CLICK HERE for the latest news.

Ledley King (hamstring) is running but unlikely to feature against Wigan while the news is good on Luka Modric (fractured fibula) and Giovani (ankle).

Luka's rehabilitation has progressed to running and ball work and Gio is expected to return to full training next week.

That is a very good question. Surely if Harry tells them not to lump it to Crouch then then wont? It doesn't seem particularly difficult to follow that instruction. I know players may have a certain instinct to hit it long to Crouch but surely intelligent Premier League players can get over that and follow a managers instructions? If they can't do what the manager wants then we have bigger problems than fitting Crouch in.

So Bassong could play and Lennon probably will. If Harry is going to keep choosing the players he alaways seems to play when fit, and filling in the left wing gap with Kranjcar, we get something like:

Defoe Keane

Kranjacar Huddlestone Palacios Lennon

Ekotto Bassong Woodgate Corluka

Gomes

The other option he may go with is

Defoe Crouch

Keane Huddlestone Palacios Lennon

Ekotto Bassong Woodgate Corluka

Gomes

The only other players who might start are Jenas (possibly instead of Huddlestone) and Dawson (possibly instead of Bassong). He may also chose the first option with Crouch instead of Keane if Keane is tired from the Ireland games.

News about Lennon, Luka and Gio is all good. Hopefully Gio will be back to give us options in the CC match against United, and Luka will be fit for the Christmas run-in!

Slight oxymoron there :)
