10 players pretty guaranteed to start: Vicario, Porro, Romero, Davies, Udogie, Bissouma, Lo Celso, Kulusevski, Son, Johnson - last spot between Höjberg, Gil, Richarlison, possibly Sarr. Well, Skipp too, but that's quite unlikely.

I think we should start with Gil. West Ham will sit back so we are likely to see more of the ball, so why not let the AMs do their thing?
If Gil/Johnson doesn't work then PEH in and push Kulu back to the wing and GLC into ACM.
Its straightforward and something the players wont need to prep for since they dont have time anyway.

It’s good to have different choices for different circumstances. Gil and PEH are almost opposites. I think both will get game time.

We need to give Gil a run of games to genuinely see if he’s up to it. The kneejerkers have deemed him not good enough, but there’s something about him. It’s a bit of a Sess 2.0, as with some confidence, they both could be better.

Im hoping Biss shows a bit more of his early season form tbh. I think spammers will not press as aggressively and might suit him.

Agree, Gil definitely needs a run of games. Another start-stop run is just not setting him up for a consistency we all like to see. Spammers look a right team for him to open his account and build his confidence. Fingers crossed. 🤞🏻

Sounded (from Ange's update) like Sarr would be back in time for Newcastle but not Thursday. Even then, probably benched at the weekend as he gets back to full fitness.

Would genuinely consider PEH over Biss. If Biss was anywhere near decent form, he'd be a shoe-in obviously, but he is so far off it that PEH is an upgrade, and i do like his fighting/leadership qualities. Failing that, Ange makes it clear that Biss needs to sort his sh*t out or he's benched for the Geordies.

Bring in Romero for Royal and keep everything else the same.

Just put my tickets on the exchange, been feeling rough for a few days now. Not sure how many are on there but hoping it goes!

As others have said, PEH away at Man City is a very different solution to West Ham at home.
Ange is generally braver than that so wouldn’t surprise me to see Gil retained.

And if PEH starts and we struggle to break them down, I do hope the ones clamouring for his inclusion are big enough to hold their hands up….!
Playing Hojbjerg means giving Lo Celso & Bissouma more freedom to push forwards.
Playing Gil means Lo Celso & Bissouma sitting deeper and spending more time regaining possession (after Gil gets brushed off the ball).

As Lo Celso is statistically more effective in the final third than Gil, I know which I'm in favour of.

Gil allows kulu to play in the middle though with Lo Celso and Bissouma deeper as west ham won't press us we will need the creativity of those 3 not the breaking up the game and calm of Hojbjerg.

Vicario
Porro, Romero, Davies, Udogie
Bissouma
Hoijberg (rightish)
Kulusevski (AMC) Lo Celso (Leftish)
Johnson (RW/CF) Son (LW/CF)

A bit more free flowing rather than a balanced formation, but that's what I'd go for. Gil may still have a future, but I think PEH has earned a start and he makes us more solid.

Also even though he made a few mistakes the last game, I feel pretty bad dropping Royal, but as im not sure about Romero/Royal playing LCB, so Davies.

Gil or Hoijberg is the only question. Hopefully Richarlison gets some more minutes as well.

Don't change the 11

Vicario

Porro
Romero
Davies
Udogie

Bissouma
Lo Celso
Kulu

Johnson
Son
Gil

Gil was lost but he was going against walker, arguably the best RB still in the PL. Only until his booking were we getting joy

Hojberg is pointless with Romero back as Royal doesn't need that protection and West Ham aren't going to keep the ball like city
Walker the best RB in prem keague ever!

Hojbjerg in, Gil out. Push Lo Celso into AMC, Deki back to the right.

I'm not at all convinced by Gil, which is what is driving this, but he is certainly a useful option to have on the bench.

Any news on this?

I think we're mostly all assuming Romero for Royal.

And maybe Højbjerg for Gil

With an outside chance of Richarlison.

I would love to see Romero and Dorrington tonight, know it probably won't happen but would like some of the youth to get a chance while they can.

I won't leave you a disagree but I do disagree. Bissouma has been rusty since his suspension but that just means he needs a run of games.

Bissouma at 75% still offers more than Hojbjerg IMO.
