Yeah this is the most likely option IMO. I just included Johnson and put Deki in as an 8 because it sounded really fun to watch.

But Richarlison for Solomon and Sonny out at left forward would work really nicely for this match IMO
Can see how Richarlison would be good choice - and great for his confidence too. He should be raring to go!

3-4-3

Lloris

Phillips
Dier
Davies

emerson
Skipp
Hogberg
Udogie

Johnson
Richarlison
Solomon

I propose we save our first 11 for our next game where we have a better chance of wiinning. Resting them for this game avoids injuries or suspensions for games which we can win.

Kind Regards

If that was supposed to be funny, I don't think it worked

Why would we play anything but the team that won last week?
That kind of thinking can lead to complacency imo. Each team offers a different threat. I've there are games when battering ram Richie is better suited up top than son. Games where pacy, direct Johnson better than dribbly Solomon.

I personally think Johnson's pace in behind this week could be super dangerous, but would rather see Solomon against a low block

Vicario

Porro
Romero
VDV
Udogie

Bissouma
Sarr
Maddison

Kulu
Son
Solomon

.

Richy & Johnson on around 70 mins.

No need to change a winning team that is playing well however if we want to play it slightly safer we could go for Royal instead of Porro.
Agree, only change i would fo for is Royal to look after Martinelli he is a very dangerous player for them.
Trossard playing extremely well lately for them need to be extra dilligent against him if he starts.

I didn’t catch the game last weekend and only saw the highlights but weren’t we losing to Sheff Utd with that starting team until we brought subs on?

Arsenal are not a low-block team, unlike Sheffield United. We'll likely have more space to play with in midfield, once we break any pressing they do.

I think Solomon, Son and Deki should all start again
Yep agree, I think putting RIchy in for this one is too much pressure on him again, let him make an impact off the bench again if needed and start him against Liverpool at home with our fans behind him. Start Solomon, Son & Deki then bring on Richy and Johnson to run at their tired legs once we are 4-0 up.

From someone on their forum 🤦‍♂️ such arrogant bar stewards:
“They’re getting the usual treatment. Woeful side in transition and haven’t faced anybody near our level. They simply won’t be able to handle us. The Aussie and his low hanging gut aren’t doing anything at the emirates.”😂😂😂🤦‍♂️ idiots.

Gooner at work yesterday also same attitude “you’re no good we are going to smash you”, I simply said “how many of our games have you watched this season?”… “erm none”.

Ok then so it’s just usual Arsenal fan arrogance saying we are crap having not even watched a minute of our games this season 🤦‍♂️. It was the reverse last season when they thought we’d turn them over because we had Conte when we all knew we were going to get a hiding. Can’t wait for them to get a rude awakening when we turn up dominate the game and go 2-0 up early on.

We might win we might lose but I have to say their fans are some of the dumbest and arrogant and most blinkered in terms of when they have a half decent side they make out they’re the Harlem globetrotters and everyone else is absolutely awful.

To describe us as “a woeful side in transition” says absolutely everything about their cretin fanbase.

I do think this game comes slightly too soon in Ange’s project but I certainly wouldn’t rule out a draw or an unexpected win and if so I’d Kevin Keegan “love it”.

They’ve looked pretty poor this season apart from against a weak PSV side, they struggled against Everton, nearly lost the game against Man.U, scraped past Forest and Palace and drew at home to the mighty Fulham but yet they think they’re completely unbeatable.

We’ve scored more goals than them, created more chances per game than them etc etc, sometimes when we are actually a good side and they underestimate us like this it works in our favour.

--------Vicario
Emerson-Romero-VDV-Udogie
--------Bissouma-------
----Kulu-------Sarr---
Johnson--Son---Maddison

We need Emerson in this game where we need to be a bit more solid and will get a lot more crosses into the box. In that apartment, Porro has shown weakness many times before. The movement with those 5 in front will be a nightmare to deal with, and moving Kulu inside to help Emerson in defense would also free up Maddison and Son to switch positions, by both in my mind are capable of moving in and out playing that half 9 role and Johnson vs Zinchenko 1v1, well that makes me excited.

Agreed, but every side has played a deep low block apart from PSV against them and look how that went. Now I think we have much better players than PSV but still, you give this Arsenal side space they will hurt you.

My XI

Vicario
Emerson Romero VDV Udogie
Kulusevski Bissouma Sarr
Johnson Son Maddison

I dont think Ange will pick this XI.

But I still prefer this XI - major change is Kulu as 8 and Maddison out wide. Kulu & Maddison can also change it up.
IMO, game is going to have lot of transition and we need legs in middle of park.

Emerson ahead of Porro to have more stable defense. Having Emerson deep, could move VDV more closer to Udogie to give him cover against Saka.

Maddison on left could get wasted but IMO, he has enough dribbling skill to get the ball into penalty box and be effective. Also, Maddison could drop in no 10 as tip of diamond and we could play 2 up top with Sonny & Johnson. There could be lot of flexibility.

Key for me this game is, shutting up Saka and having legs in middle of the park. And we should look to get Son & Johnson to run behind their defense

Conversely, most teams we have played have been compact too but Burnley went for it against us and we bagged five so maybe Arsenal need to be careful too?
