Lloris
Aurier Sanchez Toby Davies
Dier Winks
Lucas Dele Eriksen
Kane

Subs: Gazzaniga, Trippier, Foyth, Waynama, Sissoko, Lamela, Son
Seeing as Lamela will most likely be out of the starting 11 due to the international schedule I would be surprised if we don't line up like this.

This makes a lot of sense to me. Obviously if we get Verts available, he’s straight in though. The only dilemma I have is Trips vs. Aurier. Overall comparison is done to death in the other thread but for this game, against this opposition? I wonder if Aurier is a penalty/red card liability and Trips offensive contribution swings it in his favour for a home fixture. Welcome the views of my learned colleagues (or other members).

Poch seems to have lost a little bit of faith in Sonny but as long as he doesn't play him as a left wing back again against chelsea then i'll be happy.

I'm absolutely sure Sissoko will start after his last run of good performances.

Well deserved, but I'm not sure this is the type of game for him. If he could be instructed to man-mark and close down Jorginho all-game then maybe.

This is another example of us not agreeing. I would be excited if Rose was to return fit for Chelsea's game.
I might venture to say we need Rose back more than Jan... CBs have been solid in his absence, LB continues to be a shaky spot.

Interesting how perfect City look compared to our mess ?

We almost seem to be a 2413 definitely a formation I’ve not heard mentioned lol.

The most interesting thing is the most common passing lanes of each team

Argentina match KO is 9 pm Argentina time this evening(midnight our time). So if they fly back tomorrow morning will be in London Wednesday evening. Light training Thursday actually think lamela could be available but probably be bench.

What ever time he’s back if he plays in it he’ll only be on the bench.

Think we'll try and match Chelsea in shape and deploy Sissoko as extra muscle to disrupt play and keep tabs on Hazard.

Lloris
Aurier-- Sanchez-- Toby---Davies
Sissoko--- Dier---- Winks
Lucas------------------- Dele
Kane

Kane
Son Dele Eriksen
Winks Dier
Davies Toby Sanchez Aurier
Lloris

Reminder Son will have gotten a full international breaks rest so should be fully fresh.

As noted earlier in the thread, I don't think Sissoko is that well suited to a man-marking like role. Even then, Jorginho is the player to disrupt, since all of Chelseas play run through him. If Hazard gets the ball, he's very hard to stop anyway.

Still think he would be well suited for this game. He's usually very good against higher quality opposition and we should take advantage of the good form that he's currently showing.

Disagree Davies is the definition of a solid no frills full back. It’s a position we can certainly upgrade on but Davies is far from shaky

Agree to disagree, he's been poor in quite a few games this year.
