Well as long as Dempsey and Naughton start I'll be happy. In fact if they get into the starting line-up the Chavs might as well just give us the 3 points and skip the game altogether.

I know we won't see it, but I would like to see:
Lloris
Walker Dawson Vertonghen Ekotto
Parker
Huddlestone Sigurdsson
Bale------------------------------------Lennon
Adebayor
We lack so much invention that I really feel we need Sigurdsson or Holtby in an advanced central position, the only two players who look capable of playing clever through balls.

I like Hudd as everybody knows but maybe the bench for this one. I'm assuming Dembele will be out so I'll roll with this:

Lloris

Walker
Dawson
Vertonghen
Ekotto

Parker
Holtby

Lennon
Sig
Bale

Adebayor

Sig and Bale to interchange. Sig, Parker and Adebayor should be well fresh as well. Holtby will need to be disciplined though - can't whore around all over the shop.

Lloris
Walker Caulker Vertonghen BAE
Carroll Parker Holtby
Lennon Adebayor Bale

Dembele hasn't been playing well for some time and I don't think he'll be a big loss, no doubt the players will be up for this game.

I'd put Thor in the team but we need someone that can be able of sitting in the midfield.

This. It's not a game for Huddlestone with Chelsea having Hazard/Oscar/Mata.

This.

Defoe and Dempsey can come off the bench as impact subs.

It's a toss up between Holtby and Hudd for me, prefer Holtby's energy though.

I think this is best case scenario.

Exactly what I was going to say. Hudd, Defoe, and even Dempsey are decent options on the bench too. Probably their best position.

I think Holtby and Sig will need to put in huge shifts. We know we'll get one from Parker but one man ain't enough. That side would give us a chance IMO.

Yea, think I may possibly choose Holtby over Huddlestone. Would just like to see a bit more discipline from Holtby. He can't go sprinting around like a pitbull and running himself out of position, knackering himself out in 20 minutes. I always worry a bit when I see him running around so much and it leads to him not having the energy to track opposition runners which I've seen quite a few times.

I think Hudd would be a better option from the bench here. They'll be out fast, despite playing all these games, the crowd will demand it. Holtby's energy and tenacity could be best served to start with, we'll need to be very competitive - but he'll need to play with more positional discipline when it warrants it.

If we need to change it Hudd could come on when it isn't such a high octane affair and when you consider their threat its probably the way to go.

I wouldn't dare to think what the team is going to look like due to injuries..what i'd like to see is caulker come in & verts play
in front of the back four

I agree, if we're chasing the game Hudd is a great player to bring on.

Still, we don't know the reasoning behind Parker's omission yet; may well be an injury and he isn't available for the game... So could be a midfield two of Holtby and Hudd.

As a frequent criticiser of Parker; I hate to concede I would miss him for a game of this magnitude.

See most people so far are putting Lennon in their team. Unless he makes a visit to see Eileen Drewry cant see how the hell he makes this game.

Lloris
Walker Dawson Vertonghen Ekotto
Parker Carroll Holtby
Lennon Adebayor Bale
Subs: Grandpa, Caulker, Naughton, Livermore, Hudd, Ceballos, Defoe
- Lloris. Nuff said.
- Can't really do a lot with the back four. Stuck with it.
- Parker and Holtby bring the energy. I'd give Carroll the go, lets see what he is made of and if he can use possession wisely.
- I think we have to continue with Lennon, because the alternatives are a pair of plodders.
- Adebayor should start, Defoe on bench if/when needed.
- Give Ceballos (or McEvoy etc) the wide forward bench spot. Can't be any worse than the other options.

Unless they're exhausted I think we could get hammered. Then again, it's spurs so who knows
