We need to control Silva and De Bruyne to stand any chance so I'd go 433. I'd have Sissoko in for physicality in MF and to help Trippier with Sane.

Lloris

Trippier
Dier
Vertonghen
Davies

Sissoko
Winks
Dembele

Eriksen
Kane
Son

...need physicality and athleticism in this one - should start Aurier, Sissoko, Rose, and Dembele...
COYS
It’s not the worst idea. Their one weakness has no question been set pieces. They are tiny and will likely have 2 players 6 ft plus we could have 6 or 7. Need to make that work for us.

Agree on that prefer Aurier/Rose/Dembs

Based on tonight, I guess the team Poch plays will be:

Lloris

Trippier
Dier
Vertonghen
Davies

Dembele
Winks

Eriksen
Dele
Son

Kane

I guess there's a possibility he'll go for complete power and physicality in partnering Sissoko with Dembele instead of Winks, but aside from that I expect this will be the team.

I'd be tempted to play 4-3-3, and set up a powerful midfield that serves to break up play and counter, I'd go for:

Lloris

Trippier
Dier
Vertonghen
Davies

Dembele
Sissoko
Dele

Eriksen
Kane
Son

Would agree, Winks' confidence took a knock tonight, big call for Poch as to whether to leave him out for Sissoko or not.

Really not excited about trippier and davies starting this one. You'd assume that dembele and winks are starting in midfield given sissoko played the full 90 today. Would like to see lamela start again and get at the spaces. Same attack as today imo.

I think we will still start with Rose & Aurier but agree with your other choices as we would need power to disrupt their attacking players.

Some days you just don't have it, and that is the way it is for all players. Don't think it will bother Winks too much. Play Dembele with him and play a 4-2-3-1. Davies at LB with Son providing the width in front of him which will give Dele room underneath Kane with Eriksen drifting from the right. Expect Trippier on the right providing the width there.

This is tough but doable if we go ahead and play with some freedom.

Subject to fitness:

............................. Lloris ...........................

Aurier......... Dier.............. Verts....... Rose

..........Sissoko .....Dembele... Winks .........
............................ Eriksen..........................

.................... Kane........ Son ......................

We need to stop with the chopping and changing of our full backs. Aurier looks like he’s finally starting to fit in and if Rose is fit enough then he has the legs on Davies who will get exposed against Sterling, De Jesus and Walker.

Not a fan of Sissoko but he’ll add strength and energy to our midfield along with Dembele. Winks will hopefully be fit and raring to go. Eriksen behind Kane and the roaming Son.

With Toby out we need to be strpng defensively. But without a 3rd exeprienced CB, we cant play 3 at the back. So the next best defensive-minded formation would be a solid Christmas fòrmation a.k.a. 4321

.........................lloris.....................
Trips......Dier............verts.......rose
.....dembele....winks....sissoko.....
...............son.........eriksen.............
.........................kane......................

Lamela, llorente and Dele to come on shoild changes in formation be required

For me we play narrow, fill the middle of the pitch and play on the counter:
Lloris
Trippier Dier Verts Davies
Winks Dembele
Eriksen Alli
Kane Son
Bench: Vorm Rose Foyth Aurier Sissoko Lamela Llorente

More seriously:

Lloris
Aurier Dier Vertonghen Rose
Winks Dembele
Lamela Eriksen Son
Kane

Gazzaniga Trippier Davies Sissoko Dele Nkoudou Llorente
If we try to sit back and counter this lot like we did Liverpool, Dortmund and Madrid we will be crucified, this City side find holes where none seemingly exist. Our only chance is if we fight from the front and rattle them, that means high press, all action, chase down every ball as if our lives depend on it.

Lloris
Trippier Dier Vertonghen Davies Rose
Dele Dembele Eriksen
Kane Son
Lamela and Winks as impact subs. We'll have to work our absolute bollocks off, we'll create a couple chances that we have to be clinical with. Lloris will need to have a De Gea v Arsenal game. Draw would be a phenomenal result all things considered.
