Overstated,IMO. They fly in luxury these days. In fact, a coach trip up to Newcastle is probably more tiring.

I do admit, in this instance, a 6 hour flight is quite a long flight however.

It's little knocks, shit pitch, disruption to sleep, lack of preparation time for chelsea.

All have an effect.

It will be up to poch in the end. Our opinions aint worth the steam off of fazios jockstrap. So no real point in arguing.

Does the team fly out today or tomorrow? We will get a pretty good idea of the team once we know who has actually traveled. I very much doubt Poch would take the likes of Eriksen, Lamela Kane etc and not start them.

I'd guess tomorrow.

We have perhaps our best chance in a while to get back into the top 4 this season and on sunday a chance to create a 13 point gap against chelski. Personally I think we need to rest everyone that played vs the pikeys in preparation for the massive game this weekend and play a second string 11.

if it goes tits up then we still have the home game vs Monaco to get qualified for the UEFA knock out stages. On that basis......

Thursday:

Vorm,
Tripper, Wimmer, Fazio, Davies,
Carrol, Mason,
Townsend, Alli, Onomah,
Son / Njie(if fit)

Sunday:
Hugo
Walker, Jan, Toby, Rose,
Dembele, Dier
Lamella, Son, Eriksen
Kane

I really hope we save a few legs and just let them at home preparing for Chelsea. Playing our first XI doesn't even guarantee succes away in Europa like we saw before. Take a slight gamble and have a full go at Chelski.
I espacially want to see Wimmer, Clinton and Winks getting some minutes.

Play all kids, non starters and accept the defeat, anything more is a bonus. Sunday is massive, have to prioritise.

Will be so disappointed if we take Kane, Eriksen, Dier, Dembele et al...please leave them at home.

I don't think that Carrol and Fazio have a future with us so some kids instead of them. Townsend probably doesn't have either but I'd like to see him on the left wing and Onomah in midfield. Don't really care if we lose, resting key players is more important IMO and this team could still win anyway.

Okay we now know MoPo won't rest many players. I am not surprised.

21 have travelled and given the team news these are:

Lloris, McGee, Vorm - Trippier, Alderweireld, Wimmer, Vertonghen, Davies, Carter-Vickers - Dier, Mason, Carroll, Winks, Alli, Onomah, Eriksen, Townsend, Son - Harrison, Kane. With one spot left for Fazio or Clinton. Hopefully it is Clinton.

That means we need to sort three players out who won't be in the squad and I would be very surprised if these are not Harrison, CCV and McGee.

So starting line up will probably be:

Lloris - Trippier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies - Mason, Dier - Alli, Eriksen, Son - Kane

Personally would like to see Clinton, Wimmer, Winks or Onomah to start but I doubt it.

I think the reason why Dembele is playing so well is that he is given freedom in the 3 behind Kane, where he can cause havoc with his running, instead of being tied down in front of the back 4. I reckon he will stay there and Poch will will put Mason for the suspended Alli in front of the defence.
Hope we send a weakened team out there as its a hell of a trip. Not just the game time but the travelling that will drain those making it.
Vorm, Davies,Trippier, Fazio (argh), Wimmer, Alli, Townsend, Onomah,Winks, Carroll, Njie Subs - anything left that we can scape together!

Dembele has played the last 2 games in the deeper role and been excellent

So only Mousa Dembele, Danny Rose and Kyle Walker have been left behind. Lamela is out injured. Hope the rest are there for team bonding and wont actually start the game.

Trouble is it will be the travelling more than the match that will knacker us!

Pitch actually looks pretty decent from the training pics of the team coming through at the moment. Last thing we would have needed is to play on a terrible surface.
