Good point here about mandzukic against Trippier if we play with a back 4 or Sanchez/dier if we go with a back 3.
Trippier would get destroyed in the air.

And Aurier wouldn't get 'destroyed in the air' in the same circumstances?
No Lichtsteiner or Barzagli?
Nope.No Lichtsteiner or Barzagli?
That analysis is a bit outdated because it only focuses on 4231. Juventus have recently changed formation to 4-3-3, and it's most likely that they'll continue that formation in CL if the right players are available. That being said, I agree, I believe we must bring the battle to the midfield. From Blackwhitereadallover

Which having read it, made me think that we should go:-
Gone for a Hard Centre! esp for the first 60 -70 mins...Press the hell out of them and then hit em, after 70 mins when we want to stretch the game with pace and bring it after they get tired
Maybe. Or he does something different leaving them both out.Been thinking about it, and I wouldn't be surprised if Pochettino replaces Son with Lamela for this one.
Son has played 3 in the last week and has just looked so slightly off it in the last couple of games, whereas Lamela was energetic, lively and had no small amount of quality when he came on against Arsenal.
He's pretty much said when asked that he plans on sticking with the same system we've used over the last few games, so they won't be left out for that reason, and I doubt that Lucas will start in such a big game so soon after he's arrived.Maybe. Or he does something different leaving them both out.
I think 1) Pochettino would never discuss a possible surprise in the media. Hence the word surprise. 2) Forget about the general discussion about Sissoko, for this specific match, I believe Sissoko would be a very bad choice. He's pretty much said when asked that he plans on sticking with the same system we've used over the last few games, so they won't be left out for that reason, and I doubt that Lucas will start in such a big game so soon after he's arrived.
I think it will be down to those two and, sigh, Sissoko, who he may like for his more physical presence against Juve.
Tough to leave Son out, but the added defensive solidity could be crucial over two legs.
While I would normally have preferred Rose for a game like this, Ben Davies form makes it almost impossible to leave him out. On the opposite flank I think Auriers pace and power would be very useful against both Mandzukic and Alex Sandro.
Subs: Vorm, Trippier, Rose, Lamela. Moura, Son, Llorente
