I would play Kane on Sunday and then assess the situation after that. I mean the full backs can be swapped if needed, I don't think there is much to choose between them. I think Toby and Verts can play no problem, I feel like Dier, Lamela have to play. We could always start with Kane and if we get a couple of goals up then take him off. I know Poch said he's happy with his forward options but I am not, really. If I was going to not start with Kane, like yourself I would prefer Chadil upfront to Son for some reason, even though Son is a better player.

in agreement with you, I think Chadli up top would work better and IMO Son is a better overall player. Chadli with his size could be a very useful target man... hoping his workrate in that position could match his potential there (y)

Mullers, Kane was absolutely flagging last Sunday against Everton from minute 60, he needs a rest. I know you think highly of the FA cup and so do I but we need to rest him and allow other players to come in otherwise he will suffer burn out. We play Leicester again 3 days later where he needs to come in as that game is a 6 pointer. I agree with you about the Centre backs but I think Wimmer needs to come in and replace either.

Won't happen.

I would love to have a good run in the fa cup - I don't like to see it undervalued. However, with our current situation regarding a lack of adequate cover or indeed competition for Kane, Harry must be rested for the weekends game. I would go for son over Chadli up top (mainly on the basis that son has played there this season and Chadli hasn't). I would certainly give onomah 90 mins and rest dier as well.

Pains me to say it as I'd love us to win the cup but the fuckwit way fixtures have been scheduled means it needs to be rotation rotation rotation:

FA Cup:

Lloris
Trippier Vickers Wimmer Davies
Winks Bentaleb
Townsend Onomah Chadli
Son
Premiership:

Lloris
Walker Alderweireld Vertonghen Rose
Dier Carroll
Lamela Alli Eriksen
Kane

Three games in six days...

FA Cup XI vs Leicester (10th Jan)

Vorm
Trippier-Wimmer-Verts-Rose
Winks-Carroll
Townsend-Onomah-Chadli/Son
Son/Chadli

PL XI vs Leicester (13th Jan)

Lloris
Walker-Toby-Verts-Davies
Dier-Dembele/Carroll
Lamela-Alli-Eriksen
Kane

PL XI vs Sunderland (16th Jan)

Lloris
Trippier-Toby-Verts-Rose
Dier-Dembele/Carroll
Lamela-Alli-Son
Kane

Hoping that Dembele will be able to return for at least one of the PL games, but better to not risk it if he is not fully recovered. He is crucial to the remainder of the campaign. Also would love to see one (or more) of CCV/Harrison/Veljkovic/Winks get a start in the FA Cup, but don't think Poch will do it.

That FA cup team is basically throwing the game. I'll be surprised if there's more than 4 or 5 changes from the previous league match.

I am sure he's capable of playing both games but even if he is on the bench if it's a tight game or we are a couple of goals down then there is a fair chance he will come on anyway, so he might not get much of a rest at all. It will be interesting to see what Poch decides.

the league is the priority i think, Son should start up top, kane on the bench and see how it goes. Maybe chadli starting as well as onomah along with trippier and one of the left backs who won't play the league game. I'd also put in wimmer but not sure poch will break up the central defence.

I would actually quite like to see Chadli tried up top in the cup game, with Eriksen as the middle man in the three. Bentaleb will need to play as well and I would rest Kane, Alli, one of the Belgian boys at the back and possibly Dier.

I play centre back for my Sunday league team and trust me when I say it's a tiring job; you have to be mentally switched on for all 90 minutes of the game.

I'm not saying I'm as good as Jan and Toby but I play a similar style to them.

Oh don't sell yourself short mate ;)

I don't think he will rest Kane. If he does then I think we can safely say he's not bothered by the cups. By all means rest him against lower division teams but not against another premier league side.

Simply has to rest Kane. I'm not as anal about resting players as most are, they play football for 90 mins once or twice a week, they will survive. But Kane looked shot vs Everton and we need to give Son a go as striker as he will be the back up striker for rest of the season. I too can see Kane starting though

Certainly the league game on Wed is a priority and I would expect our respective starting line-ups to reflect that. That said, we 'rested' a whole batch of players against Monaco only for them to come back in and be beaten by Newcastle a few days later.
But, in the long-run, I do think we need to think about keeping the players fresh. Giving a rest to the likes of Kane, Alderweireld, Dier and Alli on Saturday may not be a bad idea and it's not if we'd be drafting in second-rate replacements - Son, Chadli, Trippier, Bentaleb, Mason etc are all potentially a good run of form away from being considered starters.
