FA Cup will always be a priority. Having said that we have internationals like Son, Chadli, Wimmer, Bentaleb, Rose and Mason who have only been sporadically involved recently that we should be able to rely on to come in and get a result at home against Leicester.

Rotate as much as possible in the FA Cup game.

Leicester will likely play an almost fully rotated 11 and our B team should be better than theirs.

How on earth do you recover from groin surgery in 7-10 days? I can't get my head around that. The general anaesthetic alone would lay you low for about that long. Perhaps it's not a GA procedure? Which for a groin op would seem odd. Don't really get it.

Why would we put Townsend or Fazio in either team when they have both been told they can look for another club? (ITK iirc)
I would play the Monaco team with Chadli instead of N'jie and Bentaleb for Dier in the FA cup and the "usual" team for the league game on Wednesday.

Probably a hernia or something being done under local anaesthetic.

A perfect opportunity for the likes of Trippier, Mason, Bentaleb, Wimmer, Chadli to gain extra minutes... whether that's playing the full 90 or just a portion of the game.

I've had hernias repaired and I wouldn't recommend playing football soon after.
Even after keyhole surgery all the stretching you do during a football match could undo any repair. IMO

They can probably do under local+key-hole now, maybe? Still, coming back so soon afterwards sounds like madness.

Maybe he's just having a dose of crabs cleaned up and 'groin surgery' is the club's way of covering...

Hey guys, I'm down from Africa and really would like to watch a game while I'm out here. Not sure if anyone can help, but would be awesome if anyone had tickets they weren't using and I could purchase for the fa cup game on Sunday ? I need 3. Thanks in advance

These threads always make me laugh.....

You might as well predict the weather so that is what I will do...

For the cup match I think it will be 11°C with a 16mph wind and a humidity of 79% with some sun and showers.

I have no idea about the weather for the league match because like trying to predict the team who really gives a shit :)

Assuming Dembele is out and Mason is fit, the team for the league game should be:

Lloris

Walker Alderweireld Vertonghen Davies

Dier Mason

Lamela Alli Eriksen

Kane
For me, other than the two centre backs and Lloris, everyone could do with a bit of a rest before the league game, and even then I'd rest those three just to make sure if I could. Being sensible though probably best to play Lloris and one of the centre backs, and I'm assuming that with Townsend as a no-go we'll have to play Eriksen or Lamela.

So for the cup I'd go:

Vorm

Trippier Alderweireld Wimmer Rose

Bentaleb Carroll

Lamela Onomah Chadli

Son
If Dembele is fit for either game then he comes in for Mason for the league game meaning Mason can replace Lamela in the cup game.

If We really don't think Lamela can play in both games (which could well be the case) then replace him with someone like Winks for the cup game.

All depends on fitness really after a tough Xmas.

FA CUP :

LLoris
Trippier - Toby - Wimmer - Rose
Bentaleb - Mason
Onomah - Eriksen - Chadli
Son

League :

LLoris
Walker - Toby - Verts - Davies
Dier - Carroll
Eriksen - Alli - Lamela
Kane

If Dembele is fit, put him in the League game for Carroll. We could even see Winks make a sub appearance in the Cup game if things are going our way.

One thing that should be a consideration in this thread is when these fixtures are taking place
FA cup vs Leicester: Sunday 1/10 4 PM
PL vs Leicester: Wednesday 1/13 8 PM
PL vs Sunderland: Saturday 1/16 12:45 PM

3 games in alittle under 6 full days. Last slot in both the Leicester matches. Earliest slot in the Sunderland match. Thankfully all 3 fixtures are the lane, but we still got the short end of the stick here. Hopefully Poch recognizes this and decides to do some more rotation than he usually does since this is happening just 1 week after the busy festive period.

For comparison's sake, woolwich has 3 games in alittle more than 8 full days. ****s.
