Need a strong enough startig 11 to win with some game changers on the bench - we can only use 3 subs so the rest of the bench doesn't matter. If we are winning at HT its an ideal time to try out a couple of our youngsters. If the game is tight, the youngsters will simply have the experience of being with the first team and the experienced players take us through

None of the startig 11 except Lloris (hopefully Fazio can play v Liverpool, if not play Dawson here and rest Kaboul ?)is expected to start v Liverpool and hopefully we do not need to use the experienced ones on the bench.

From what ive seen thus far, im worried about Kaboul facing L'pool so think id rather Naughton and Dier played this one to prepare together for the bigger test ahead on Sunday. (Shudders at memories of what Sterling did to Naughton last time we played them at The Lane).

From what ive seen thus far, im worried about Kaboul facing L'pool so think id rather Naughton and Dier played this one to prepare together for the bigger test ahead on Sunday. (Shudders at memories of what Sterling did to Naughton last time we played them at The Lane).

If Walker isn't back, I would be pretty miffed if Dier didn't keep his spot at RB against Liverpool.

Don't think Fryers was included in the Europa Squad.

Yep. As long as he's next to Vertonghen and Dier I'm happy. I still think he's a very good defender, he was just a bit rusty against West Ham after a stop start season last year.

ooook...it cant be worse than last year for me anyway. Brought my nephews to their first match, via the shop and the whole shebang, at 5-0 down they basically went to sleep. One of them is now a confirmed Chav and the other seems to have a mild case of post traumatic stress whenever i turn up at the house for a kickabout.

Maybe that's clouded your view somewhat? He was awful, but then the whole team was and Vertonghen was just as bad at Chelsea. Collectively we just were not at the races last year.
