If Toby is out (I still think he'll play), I hope we'll delve into the youngsters (probably CCV) rather than pushing Dier to centre back.

Whilst it would be a big risk, I think our midfield falls apart without Dier and I don't see any sensible replacement for him in that role in the squad.

I think CCV is injured.

#thfc Poch: Toby (illness) & Lamela (strain/long flight) to be assessed tomorrow ahead of #lfc. Seemed more confident on Toby than Erik.

Doesnt sound overly positive. Would prefer them both to start personally, but if one is going to be fit then Toby is certainly the one most needed.

OK- Toby sounding more positive with a different slant- he has trained:

Pochettino just finished press conference. Alderweireld picked up stomach bug with Belgium but trained today and will be assessed tomorrow.

SC medical committee :asshat: have just released this considered recommendation:

Toby.. he has the shits, stick a cork in his bunghole to prevent leakages and let him man mark Sturridge by constantly puking on him

It feels like that over the last few seasons we've had numerous 'massive' games against Liverpool, and have come out disappointed more often than not...let's hope this one is different. Aside from the hammering that finished AVB, we also conspired to give Super Mario his only premier league goal for Liverpool, and threw away a 2-1 advantage when BAE took up WWE in the penalty box.

If someone can promise me we'll win, that'll be great. Cheers.
To be fair to BAE, Defoe didn't do him any favors by passing it back in our box instead of clearing the ball.

Will struggle without Lamela's intensity, he always sets the standard in big games. Plus side is Son should be very fresh after the week off.

He's been a bit rusty in the last couple of months. With a week off, he might be even rustier.:)

You can't polish a turd!

You can actually. Shit in some plaster when you are mixing it, then spread it on the wall and trowel it up a couple of times. After two hours it will be dry enough to polish, so flick some water on it and polish it with your trowel.
