I wouldn't start Trippier against Utd he struggles against anyone with pace.. Depay or Di Maria would destroy him so it's either Walker or Yedlin. If it's what we have now I'd probably go.

I don't know why people are putting Lamela with Wenger saying Sanchez is only due back on the 3rd of August and sure to miss the first game, surely Lamela will be back roughly the same time (I know he did not play much but still trained)

It's silly to do lineups now, but a cm3 + Dembele as one of the wide midfielders/forwards is surely the way to go. Pack the centre of the park, keep the fucking ball. Something we totally didn't do last year.

Lloris
Walker/Trippier - Dier - Verts - Rose
Bentaleb - Dembele - Eriksen/Alli
Lamela/Townsend -Kane - Eriksen/Chadli
Not playing Dembele vs Man Utd is stupid. He tears them apart.

...............Lloris
Walker...Toby...JV....Rose
..........DM....Bentaleb
Lamela...Erisken....LM/Chadli
...............Kane

Moutinho would be class in that position
a good backup striker needed
A good left winger too with pace that scores goals.

You can't seriously think Yedlin is a better option than Trippier against United mate?

Also, Mason at RW ahead of putting Chadli in the three?

Yeah, I am as big a Yedlin fan as there is on this site, but he is not starting against ManUtd absent some catastrophic injuries - probably Walker, Trippier, Dier, and Alderweireld at a minimum....

Yedlin will probably not even join the team until the MLS game in a couple of weeks - and that assumes he has already taken his holiday and will join straight away after his national team duty.

Lloris
Trippier Alderweireld Vertonghen Rose
Dembele Bentaleb
Yedlin Lamela Chadli
Kane
Subs: Vorm, Dier, Mason, Alli, Eriksen & Pritchard.

Trippier in for his lack of brain farts & crossing ability, which we need Kane &/or Chadli on to take advantage of it.
Dembele in to add a bit of strength in the middle (plus he usually does well v Man Utd). If Man Utd are sitting back, I would bring Mason on in the 2nd half to replace him.
Lamela in the center to make sure Schweinsteiger/Carrick/Herrera don't get time on the ball.
Yedlin to add some pace in the AM3, to exploit any space that opens up.

The biggest 2 question marks for me, are Bentaleb's CM partner, and AMR.

I know, but it is due to a lack of options, as I feel we need 1 pacey player to pin them back a little.

You won't find me opposing that idea. I'm the one who started it on here to cries of "you wot??!!" "nutter!!" etc.

He will play there at some point though and they will eat shit. :)

There's no chance of him being thrown on for the manure gig though.

I thought people were calling you a nutter because you had him on the left as an inside forward? They are right anyway, you are a nutter :).

It was for both.

If he plays on the right he'll get a shot on the left in time, natural progression in this set-up with inverted wingery being most desired.

Think outside the box on here and you get treated like your're out of your box. :meh:

Because its never too early to get ready for the season...

I think everyone who starts for us against United are already on the squad. We may sign one or two players before then, but I don't think they will be integrated enough to start the opener.

Lloris
Trippier Alderweireld Vertonghen Rose
Alli Bentaleb
Lamela Eriksen Chadli
Kane

Lloris - I think its a minor injury and he will be ready for the season opener.
Trippier/Walker - could go either way here, no idea of Walker's fitness
Alli/Mason - I think Mason is ahead of Alli, and if he is fit would start, but Mason is still rehabbing, and Alli is getting good reviews from training.
Lamela - this might be close - not sure when he is due back, but I think if he comes back next week, he still starts ahead of Townsend
Kane - he could come back on August 7 and still start...

In think game we need two things guys who keep the ball so for me Dembele has to play and we need pace on the break so I would consider playing Yedlin at right wing like he does for the USA
