Vorm
Walker Kaboul Vlad Rose
Capoue Dembele
Lennon Chadli Townsend
Soldado
Rest the team that started today other than Walker for more game time as we can always replace him late on and Soldado as his last chance saloon. He doesn't deserve to be in the PL team so this has to be his last chance to show he can contribute before January. Newcastle will likely play a slightly weakened side as they are now doing okay in the league so I think that side should be enough. I'd name the strongest possible bench just in case it doesn't work out and hope we draw a championship side in the next round if we win (there's a decent chance of that IMO) so we can give Winks/Onomah/Ceballos etc some game time then. I would have picked a stronger team but I think fresh legs will be of more benefit than playing the 11 that started today

Lloris
Chiriches Fazio Vertonghen Davies
Paulinho Bentaleb Eriksen
Lennon Kane Chadli

Subs: Vorm, Dier, Kaboul, Stambouli, Dembele, Townsend, Lamela

Use this as an opportunity to change and test the 4-3-3 formation as this 4-2-3-1 is awful.

Crowd could win/lose us this game so selection of players that are on the brink of boos is probably not advisable as the whole night could turn sour...

Soldado cut the figure of a broken man today whose race was run. As much as i admire his work outside the box and think he enhances our football even that is starting to diminish now.

Agree with this, might play Chadli centrally and put Andros on the left, or put Lamela in the middle. Eriksen to start on the bench for me.

I can give you 6 good reasons why that team would crash out. Kaboul, Vlad, Rose, Capoue , Townsend and Soldado. We are in the quarter final of a competition which gives us at least an outside chance of winning a trophy. Please let's go with our strongest team and try to get to the semis.

Very hard game yesterday in tough conditions. Re Walker, nine months out to four games in ten days? Let's look after him a bit more. Chadli less good wide, but could roam. Pleased Poch sees the scope to include Dembele in a more advanced role. Shift and shoot Moose.

Kaboul- yeah
Vlad- yeah I guess, he has looked much improved lately though
Rose- No
Capoue- People are taking ITK too seriously I think. He's still a decent player at the very least
Townsend- Can he really play worse than Lamela has been lately? Personally, I don't think so
Soldado- If we rely on him to win the game for us by scoring a 1v1 then maybe :p Seriously though, he's decent, he just isn't suited to the premier league and like I said I think he needs 1 more chance. If we can't rely on him for this match then we can't keep him, as he's on high wages and we can probably still get a decent fee for him
