Some people are desperate to have their own thread. Do you mind terribly if we get the transfer window out the way first, there's a good chap.

........very wise advice, especially as we may have 1 or 2 more in that may walk straight into the team.;)

Couldn't give a crap who starts the thread tbh, just trying to think what kind of team we might line up next time out.

Most of our players will be away with their national teams. As I do every international break, I pray they all come back unscathed and ready to play for Spurs.

Soldado
Chadli Eriksen Lamela
Sandro Paulinho
Rose Vertonghen Kaboul Walker
Lloris
Bench: Friedel, Naughton, Dawson, Dembele, Holtby, Townsend, Defoe
I picked Chadli to start ahead of Townsend cause I think Andros is a better impact player to throw in should the game become stagnant in the second half. Let him loose when their defenders are tired.

No this thread is needed to move on from yesterday. So annoying that we have to sit on this defeat for 2 weeks though.

Anyway I'd go 433
Lloris
Walker Kaboul Vertonghen Rose
Paulinho Sandro Holtby
Lamela Soldado Townsend

Kaboul coming in for Dawson for obvious reasons.

Midfield is always key and we've been too cautious apart from against Tblisi. I'm assuming Capoue will be out so Sandro comes straight in at the defensive midfield position. I'd have Paulinho as the box to box midfielder with Holtby being the more attacking of the 3.

My front 3 consisting of Lamela on the right, cutting in or going outside, and Townsend on the left to force him to play with his head up a bit more.

If we need a goal then the midfield could be made more attacking by bringing on Eriksen for Paulinho with Holtby being the box to box guy.

Fair points, I wouldn't be against seeing this and you could be right about Townsend meeting more of an impact player.

Don't you think Holtby deserves a start though? How does it look to him that he scores a cracking goal and gets an assist, then doesn't get one minute v Arsenal and then Eriksen walks into the team ahead of him?

Hm, you're actually spot on there. Holtby it is. Just so excited about seeing Eriksen in a Spurs shirt I forgot about Holtby's performances lately.

I'm guessing by the players on the subs bench the Dalai Lama is a defender? Might be good to have such as well travelled player helping out and passing on his experience to the likes of Rose and Walker. :D

You sure about that one? And would you throw Chiriches straight in ahead of Kaboul or you think he won't be fit?

I'm not sure of anything, but i'm happy to speculate. Yeh I'd like to see Chiriches in this game rather than Kaboul. I've got a feeling that Norwich will come and sit back and try to snatch something against us and having another defender who is very comfortable coming out with the ball may help us draw their midfield onto us and open up some spaces in behind. Kaboul is capable of it too but I'm not sure how confident he is going to be after such a long injury carrying the ball out from defence.

Well one thing I know is we'll have to watch out for Redmond, been very dangerous for them in the last couple of games cutting in from the left with real effect.

As it happens, I wouldn't be against your line-up. But just think it's a risk to throw 4 new signings into the team which is already adjusting to having Soldado, Paulinho, and Sandro/Holby just back from injury.

Maybe Sigurdsson instead of Naughton or Eriksen, maybe Dawson instead of Chiriches.

---------Paulinho--Sandro----------
-Lamela------Holtby------Townsend
---------------Soldado---------------

I want a player that can provide the offensive player, and i dont see that Walker is a good passer, so that can do that. We need much more speed and creative up the front, thats why wee need Lamela and and Townsend badly to start. And someone that can provide Soldado, Dembele doesn`t have that short quick passes to take out those last passes. And against the better teams u see that Daws dont really have the pace to be up there. Dont understand why Benny dont play !!!! he have been one of our best players for meany seasons and he is a world class wideback, have EPL best passingfot exept Bains. Hope that he dont get sold today. COME BACK BENNY !!!! MISS U SO LOL. COYS!

We need a lot more creativity. No point in having all this muscle that enables us to control games if we can't really hurt the opposition.

Holtby and Eriksen in for me. Lamela to start over Townsend.
