Agree that if kane is staying then this is a good pre season + game to get him up to speed. Play both legs and be ready to start v Watford.

The team we put out depends on whether Nuno wants to use this to keep squad players motivated and involved whilst resting the first choice XI, or whether he wants to use it to get his first XI really match fit at the start of the season, and will rotate later on when fixtures get moer congested. I suspect the latter, and a convincing win will make the 2nd leg a chance to fully rotate.

Would go reasonably strong. Some of the players that didn’t play, Gollini, Romero, Gil all to start etc.

Pacos are arguably the best team we could have played at this stage. Fifth last year in a bigger league, so I’d be reluctant to just play the kids (unless we want out...)

Pretty much what I would go with apart from Dier for Sanchez and Davies for Reguilon.

These guys finished 5th in Portugal last year, 7 points clear of the team in 6th.

Only the 4 big teams finished above them (Sporting, Porto, Benfica, Braga); okay it’s not the same calibre as the Premier League, Bundesliga or Serie A, but they’re certainly no clown team, and Nuno will be fully aware of that.

I expect us to go reasonably strong to try and get a good win on their ground to make life easier for ourselves next week.

Could see Gollini, Bryan, Romero all starting, probably GLC, Winks, Davies and Doherty too.

Certainly won’t be a case of just throwing the kids on the pitch.
