People on here seem to struggle to shake their preconceptions.
Sissoko has had a fair few terrible games for us (mainly last season tbf) but he has done ok for us in the main this season and is a good squad player

He has 12 goals in his last 100 games. He just isn't very good.

Just because Trippier had a bad game against Sane and City doesn't make him a bad right-back. He's still one of the best deputies in the league.

His final ball is probably the best in the league.

Fact is I’m very close to picking sissoko over dembele. Which is either a glowing reference on sissoko improvement,or sad indictment on dembele decline.

They will sit and we'll need to break them down.

I'm very happy with Sissokos contribution in away games but I wouldn't start him in these home games against teams looking for a nil nil.

Similarly, I wouldn't start Dembele or Winks even if fit, with both equally guilty of lack of penetration. Continuously playing one twos with the back line just wastes time.

We need mobility and an eye for a pass.

Hope to see an early goal to draw them out a bit.

Lastly, Trippier and Davies fans- neither have offered anything in this type of home game all season. They can play Swans and Wombles, Aurier and Rose for Soton and Wham.
