Without Dembele and with signings that Stoke have made I certainly can't see this being a repeat of the drubbing we gave them last season.

All the new signings will be on the bench IMO. Don't see Poch throwing MS or GKN in right off the bat and they would be better coming off the bench to make an impact if it's still 0-0 after a time.

Think we'll go solid with Dier and Wanyama in the middle.

I think Eriksen needs a rest/a kick up the arse.

We also need to stop this messing around with Kane and Janssen. If we play them, play them as a front 2, don't play one of them out of position and then be forced to drop one of our attacking midfielders.

I want N'Koudou on the bench, but you can't really justify him leapfrogging Son at this stage. It's also interesting that in putting together this 18, you realise that our squad is actually pretty strong.

i think Lamela has a late night match for Argentina on Wednesday, and a long trip back so for that reason only id give Sissoko a start for this one, with Erik starting Wednesday instead. Other than that i think youre spot on

Actually depending on his fitness, I'd be tempted to bring in Son for Alli and then play Lamela behind Kane. I think we'd all like to see Lamela in that role, but he has been behind Eriksen and Alli in the pecking order. Now might be the time to change that.
