----------------------------------Vorm-------------------------------------
Trippier---------CCV-----------------------Wimmer-----------Davies--
---------------------Dier-----------------Winks---------------------------
--------Sissoko-----------------Son------------------NKoudou----------
----------------------------------Janssen------------------------------------

Subs: Pau, KWP, Onomah, Amos, Dembele, Alli, Kane

If Edwards is available put him on the bench. We should be fine with this team, if something goes wrong use Kane, Dembele, Alli /Eriksen off the bench, otherwise give the young ones a few minutes.

They are currently in fifth place in league 2. Do you really think league 2 is a better league than Eredivise? I do agree with you not to underestimate them but surely Janssen is more than good enough against league 2 opposition

Well yes, he should be good enough and I hope he smashes it - I really do. That's easier said than done though especially if he's low on confidence and short of games. Of course, I'm not saying League 2 as a whole is as good as the Eredivisie, but there are probably half a dozen sides in L2 who could hold their own with the likes of Excelsior and Go Ahead Eagles.

Jesus Dier is the last person who should be playing this game.

Can't believe some picking him.

If any of you don't think Janssen is good enough to start against a League 2 team then God help us.

Doubt it, but who knows

I wouldn't start Janssen on the basis that his physical style is meat and drink to lower league CBs, and a poor performance vs such a team would smash his confidence and also give more ammo to those who have already decided he's a failure
Imo if he's not confident he can score against a league 2 side then a failure is what he is. Should be rubbing his hands thinking about a hattrick not god I hope I score.

I just want to see VJ play. I so want the guy to succeed. And if he doesn't, it might be my only chance before we flog him.

Although I'm not sure how whipping will help. Unless A&C's wearing his leather gear.

It's too risky to put Winks and Onomah in midfield. Has Onomah even played central midfield? Dier or Wanyama has to partner Winks for this game...

Vorm; Trippier, Carter-Vickers, Wimmer, Davies; Dier, Winks; Son, Sissoko, N'Koudou; Janssen

Mate we are playing Wycombe Wanderers, they're in league 2.

Need Janssen to start this and hopefully play well enough to give his confidence a boost.

We need all of our players to be full of confidence, we need Janssen to step in to be able to cover for Kane and constantly keeping him on the bench isn't going to help that.

Its beyond a confidence issue with Vince though. It's a physical attribute issue. He's strong but he has a very high center of gravity making it easier to knock him off the ball. He's also way too slow with very slow feet. He wont make it in England the way he is right now. He needs a few months of speed/agility training and he needs to strengthen his core and lower body to create a lower center of gravity. Once he makes progress here then he can get to work on his brutal first touch. The reality of it is, he needed a year. We should have bought in another striker to back Kane up so Vince had time. The way he is right now, he reminds of another former AZ striker who killed it in Holland but failed miserably in England before and after his time at AZ.

He needs to be shut down to focus on training. Once he makes progress, we can give him more game time later in the year to get his feet wet before next season.

Yes and that's all well and good but he's not going to get better if he's not playing games, training to become the player we want him to be is one thing but he needs to get games, he needs to get used to football in this country. There is literally no point in signing a player for £18m to be backup to Harry Kane just to keep him on the bench against League 2 opposition, it's just pointless.

Last couple of matches he hasn't even made it that far...

Central is his natural position, either deep or as a '10'.

To be honest I think he deserves a run out in a position he's comfortable with instead of constantly being stuck out wide and judged.
