I think this is probably close to the squad that AVB names. While I would like to start the youngsters, AVB is playing the competition seriously so I doubt we'll see too many new faces starting.
Of course, this would be the team provided Kaboul, Chiriches and Dembele are fit, of course. Excpet, I would think Soldado gets the start over Kane since he hasnt played since coming off as a sub against United. Then probably Kane would be in the squad over Bentaleb since Bentaleb is ineligible.

Don't risk defenders now we're struggling with injuries,
and we do need Sandro for Liverpool game so don't waste him here.
As mentioned before every Europa League game, reason why Gomes isn't included is because we didn't have a spot for him in our squad list (had to use final spot on a club trained player).

Friedel
Naughton - Capoue - Fryers - Ogilvie
Dombaxe - Holtby
Lamela - Sigurdsson - Townsend
Soldado

subs.
Archer, Fredericks, Stewart, Lameiras, Chadli, McEvoy, Coulthirst

Kaboul?? Rose ??

That would just be just so rude to those 1st team players not getting into XI at PL that it would be unbelievable. In their shoes I'd pick up a phone, call agent and tell him to find a new club as soon as possible and make a deal happen in january.

I get your point but I think all the senior players are already being rotated through the first team. I think the rest would do all the seniors a world of good as we have a very hectic Christmas/new year schedule coming up and all the seniors will be needed, fresh and ready

It's a meaningless match for us and there can be no reason to risk any defenders if we have an injury crisis. Surely the U 21 or development squad has players. I know Smith is back from loan and we've seen Fredericks before. Who are our U 21 centre backs? Midfield to attack is different as we have more resource.

Two words.

All Youngsters.

well,.... not quite, gotta have friedel in there... :pompous:

friedel
naughton veljkovic dawson fryers
---------------------------------------- ----bentaleb capoue (but AVB will start Paulinho :p)
lamela---------- sigi ----------mcevoy
-------------------------------------------------------------kane (maybe Ade will "recover" in time? :stop:)

this is another game where the likes of carroll, livermore, and pritchard would be nice to have around,... but agree with their loans -- more playing time away from Spurs for them this year...

AVB will be forced to play some 1st teamers :cyclops:

EDIT - well, being told veljkovic and bentaleb not eligible,... so switch to vlad and lewis for them

Smith and Veljkovic are two young defenders that can't play against Anzhi,
as they aren't eligible to be on the B list. Smith due to age, and Veljkovic (same with midfielder Bentaleb) apparently haven't been with us long enough yet to fill the reauirements.

Kane probably still injured

I suppose it depends on how the injuries to Kaboul, Verts and Vlad are looking but if all three are out of the Liverpool game then I can't see how we can risk playing Dawson and Capoue and at least of one of Naughton or Fryers. As I just said above it's a totally meaningless match and so we need 3 youngsters in defence.

weird fixture - the game is meaningless to both teams as they're set for progress in their current group positions no matter what the result...

anyone from SC planning to go? :chicken:

18.17 A player may be registered on List B if
he is born on or after 1 January 1992
and has been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted
period of two years
since his 15th birthday
by the time he is registered with
UEFA.

Bentaleb joined us 1.1.2012 (according to the club, transfermarkt say 2013 but think that's wrong)
Veljkovic 1.7.2012

there was defiantly talk of him being able to play, so could make the game.

Talk from where though ? Lots of fans mention Bentelab fior example, although his case is far more straightforward than Veljkovic that he is not ineligible - and same with Adam Snith - love to see any sources for the Veljkovic rumours.

There is an under 21 match on Friday 13th (v Fulham u21's) - so am hoping to see news that it has been postponed. If it is, it'll be an indication that AVB will be playing some youngsters in the Anzhi match beyound Fryers/Kane as Spurs do not have too many efenders in the development squad.

Not actually completely meaningless to us, if we are to make it to CL our coefficient has huge meaning - it defines wether we are seeded or not on qualifiers, it defines wether we are in pot 2 or pot 3 on group stage draw etc. However if we've resinged finishing outside top 4 guess it's then completely meaningless.

It's a dead rubber for both teams, so we should treat it as a friendly and only play first teamers if they need to top up fitness or work on sharpness.

None of our defenders or CMs need game time, and only Naughton and Capoue should even be considered, and then only if not needed on Sunday.

Of the forwards and AM, Lamela and Soldado could benefit from a run out against weak opposition, and maybe Siggy could do with some minutes, and perhaps anyone coming back from injury, such as Rose.

I would most likely go:

Friedel

Fredericks Ball Stewart Fryers

Dombaxe Lameiras

McEvoy Sigurdsson Lamela

Soldado
But have strong bench in case it starts to get embarrassing.
