Team vs Anzhi

The defence is going to have to be inexperienced. Fryers & possibly Naughton plus 2 kids.
We can't risk Dawson, I wouldn't risk Walker and to be honest Capoue might need to be left out in case Vlad doesn't recover for Sunday.
It's a 'dead rubber' so result doesn't matter, the only concern would be (as someone mentioned) damage to youngster's confidence if we took a pasting. But we are playing an Anzhi side bottom of their league and about to start their winter hols so shouldn't be too fearful.
It's not just the Liverpool game to think about; we've got West Ham and Southampton next week. Followed by 2 xmas matches, Man U and Arse away all before Jan 5th. Busy busy busy. Don't want injuries in what is basically a friendly!

Excellent news in Rose and Eriksen returning to training and could feature tomorrow - wouldn't expect too many minutes but seeing them out there, Rose in particular is a timely boost going into the busy festive season.
As others have alluded to, I wouldn't like to risk Capoue if there's doubt over Chiriches' fitness against 'pool so it goes without saying, anyone playing on Sunday shouldn't be risked tonight save Rose and maybe Eriksen.
Got to be an inexperienced back line although Friedel should be a good inclusion in this aspect and would expect the likes of Siggy, Lamela and Holtby to feature although the big question will be who will play up front in Defoe or Soldado - that will tell it's own story.

I hope we play a decent 11. Players not current getting game time in the league need to be ready to perform when called upon. There won't be ready by sitting and wasting away on the bench.

Yea I could live with that - gives minutes to those who require it without compromising us come Sunday.
Only questionable inclusion would be Soldado over Defoe but then again, it's another game for him to get up to speed and hopefully can get his confidence up by banging in a few against a pretty weak Anzhi side.

Striker selection isn't too much of a dilemma, really. Start whoever isn't going to start against Liverpool. I'd like to see Coulthirst get some time too, although subs will be partly dictated by wanting to play Rose and Eriksen for at least part of the game but most likely neither being able to play the whole match.

Any under 21 player registered should get game time, otherwise what's the point of them even being in the squad?
Walker, Dawson, Sandro, Dembele, Paulihno, Lennon, Lloris, Defoe, Soldado should be at home with their feet up.
That still leaves Freidal, Naughton, Rose, Holtby, Sig, Townsend, Ade, Eriksen plus under 21's. More than enough.....and if it isn't, play the fucking tea lady.

AVB says Kane is still out injured.
He also says that squad players Laste Dombaxe, Ryan Fredericks, Shaq Coulthirst all drafted into the squad. So I cannot see any other youngsters (such as Stewart or Ball) being available otherwise they would have been mentioned.
So that means that at best we could play Fredericks at RB and Fryers at LB/CB so we'll need two of our first team defenders to start, I would assume Naughton as AVB says Rose is fit (but I assume Rose will start on tyhe bench ?), so we will need to play a first team CB (either Dawson or Capoue as Vertonghen and Kaboul are definitely still injured and Chiriches only available for Liverpool). Dombaxe has played as an emergency CB in the Academy, but doubt that he could do it at this level.
So I'm slightly disappointed that AVB has not chosen to bring in one or two other young defenders, either to start or be on the bench in case Anzhi have given up by half time.
Up front and in midfield we have plenty of options from first team squad players - but it would be ideal to give Coulthirst and Dombaxe some minutes, probably off the bench, to gain experience .
Something like Friedel - Naughton, Capoue, Dawson, Fryers (Rose coming in at some point) - Sandro(?), Holtby(?) - Lamela, Siggy, Townsend(?) (Eriksen coming in at some point for either Siggy or Andros) - Soldado.

If Sandro is risked here I can't believe it...
The others mentioned okay, they need a game, but Lloris, Walker, Sandro, Dembele, Paulinho, Lennon, Chadli and Defoe shouldnt be anywhere near that team
