We need the brawn of Dawson and the brain of Gallas at CD.

Can't agree, I would go for Daws and Verts. Daws for his passion and Verts for a bit of pace. Gallas seems to have a square head this season, his clearances are going everywhere but where they should.

I would go for Vertonghen and Gallas at the back.

Dawson has been okay since he's been back but he struggles immensely against players with pace and mobility. I've also noticed he's f*cked up our high line a few times recently playing players on side. Luckily we haven't played any teams with the ability to take advantage it will be different against the goons.

I love Daws....but for this one Vert and Gallas. AVB has been using his CBs with consideration for the opposition....I expect to see these two roll out this week with Benny at LB.

He's also got to plan for Inter and Liverpool....3 games in a week, I'm sure that will enter his thinking.

I think he will keep Gallas for Inter, they are not particularly quick and he will want his experience.

If Giroud plays though we may want someone who can compete in the air with him (although Caulker/Dawson hardly did a stellar job on Monday night).

I think it has to be Gallas plus one, maybe Vertonghen as they have played well together the last couple of games. Looking ahead to the next few fixtures, I would want Gallas in the team for both league games, plus the Inter away fixture, and so rest him for the home leg.

Just hope Kabs comes back fit and healthy next season. A lot of these issues will be put to bed. Kabs, Verts, Daws and Caulker. 2 of each type there. Nice and rotatable when necessary.

For Liverpool I'm thinking we should call Ledley back for a one night only appearance. I'm sure Suarez is still struggling to get out of his pocket.

Make your football formation with this11.com

The only position that I am having any difficulty in deciding is CM.

I went for Holtby here but he may not be right, maybe Livermore? He is a Tottenham boy through and through. Maybe the fact that he is a fan as well as a player would benefit us in the NLD. I dunno really, CM seems tobe a bit of a funny one for us at the moment.

It would be even funnier if we put Ploddermore in.

Likely Scum line up:
-------------------Szczesny-------------------

Sagna---Koscielny-----Vermaelen--Monreal

------------Diaby---------Arteta--------

Walcott-----------Wilshere---------Carzola--

--------------------Giroud-------------------

We cant play Vertonghen at LB as he struggles against the pacey wingers and Walcott could destroy him. So Ekotto should get the nod at lb. Id like to see Vertonghen start at cb because we need some composure at the back. As for the other centre back either Dawson or Gallas both of them are experienced and good leaders which is vital for a derby game.

If Carzola does start he will be he will drift into the middle allowing Monreal to get forward so Lennon will have to work hard defensively (which he has been doing this season).

Parker and Dembele should start for me. Need Parker in there to work his socks of and stop Arsenals creative players mainly Carzola and Wilshere. Dembele is class, he's just been a bit off the ball atm so he will need to up his game.

Bale might find it hard to find some space in the middle as it will be very congested, so he will probably rotate positions with Holtby and try his luck on the left.

Adebayor needs to go out there and prove a point.

-------------------Lloris-------------------

Walker---Dawson---Vertonghen--Ekotto

---------Parker------Dembele--------

Lennon------------Bale---------Holtby--

-------------------Adebayor-------------------

COYS

^ Spot on...

Dawson has the leadership, guts and desire that is needed in NLD's, benny must play to hopefully stop Walnut with Holtby ahead of him.
Azza must play ffs, the scum are lively in the middle so we need his pace both offensive and defensive, why on earth would we change too much anyway, Benny for Caulker the only change please.....we are flying and are the form team, leave it alone...coys!

This is a difficult one:

Lloris
Walker Dawson Vertonghen BAE
Parker Holtby/Dembele
Lennon Bale Siggi/Holtby
Ade

Now Bale's been given that free role our left side goes from being a strength to a glaring weakness imo. In the summer I'd like us to get in a left-sided player, if available Coentrao would do me, either to play LB or in front of Rose. If we do get him or an equivalent then I'd sell BAE, who for me is nether an over-lapping FB type, nor a robust full-back; what he is is very good at reading the game, he'll pick up loads of interceptions, he's cultured on the ball and will link up well with a good LW, but his inability to get to the byline and whip in a cross is a big negative, especially when we'll often be playing a narrow attacking three.

Back to the match, Holtby looked a bit at sea against West Ham, in particular when we lost the ball he was often miles from the left-flank, and they had a degree of joy attacking us down that side, he was also peripheral to the game in general. Siggi on the other hand made a difference when he came on and seemed more at home on the left. But we've seen Siggi be ineffective this season when he's on from the start, and equally Holtby has had great cameos when he's come on late, so I'm torn between the two. What I would say is that Holtby's best role is in the centre of the park.

I think Dembele looks like the season has taken it's toll on him so I'm half-tempted to rest him. Parker on the other hand has seemed rusty and short of confidence, however the second half against West Ham he played with much more assurance, almost as if those memories of all the Man of the Match performances he'd had at the Boleyn reminded him how to play and what made him effective. I want his energy and I think he should be given the chance to build on that second half showing. So, perhaps Holtby could partner Parker, and Dembele given a rest? On the other hand this is Arsenal at the Lane, Dembele will get himself up for it, and so in the end I think I'd go for him.

In summary then I'd go for Siggi over Holtby who I'd start on the bench.

The player I'm really looking for a big game from is Lennon, with all the attention sure to be lavished on Bale I'm hoping he'll find himself in space, and with Bale and Ade to aim for in the centre, with support from Siggi or Holtby his contribution could be very significant.

I think it could work, and I know a fair few who would like to see it. I'm in the ever shrinking school of thought which rates Ade and thinks he's suffering from a mixture of bad luck and loss of confidence, and so I think we should persevere with him.

North London Derby and there are people who believe we should leave out the central defender with all the heart, fight and sheer determination you'd want in this game and who is playing top of his game at the moment, sorry Dawson has to play for me.
It'll be:-
Lloris
Walker, Dawson, Vertonghen, BAE
Lennon, Parker, Dembele, Bale
Holtby or Dempsey(I'd like to see Gylfi)
Adebayor

and we'll win.

Just been confirmed that Sagna is out of Sunday, so presumably Jenkinson will play. There is a case for Bale starting out left for this one to target a real weak link.

Yes , but i think that maybe a mistake, the scum would prefer him to be out on the left ,probably tearing Jenkinson a new one, but crossing it to a striker so out of form? i prefer Bale to play where he has, causing meyhem all over the park including the left, but not specifically playing there.

fuck my heart is thumping even reading through this thread. So nervous yet excited. I'm really worried about our full backs on Sunday, don't want to see a repeat of the Chelsea game. Walker is going to have to be at his very very best on Sunday or we could have problems. Would be nice if we still had Corluka for games like this IMO.
