Based on what I have seen in pre-season, team should be:

Vicario; Emerson, Romero, VDV, Udogie; Lo Celso Bissouma, Maddison; Kulusevski, Richarlison, Perisic

Subs: Keeper, Sanchez, Davies, Hojbjerg, Skipp, Sarr, Solomon, Son, Veliz


No way we'll have the bollocks to go with that midfield though, and of course Son will start.

Bang on. That's the team I want.

It will Son and Deki out wide, the only other two positions up for grab imo are the LCB if VDV is not deemed ready and the other 8, but I have watched every pre season game live and the above front three has looked better because Solomon and Perisic hold the width which is what Ange's style of football calls for, and Son has been awful in every game he played, if Richy does have a knock then I’d start Son up front.

I'd start Perisic on Sunday but expect him to be on the bench.

Think Agne's toughest call will be Sarr or Skipp, but think he'll go with the former.

Probably away from home Sarr gives more physicality than GLC, but I like the creativity and smarts or this. Having Perisic, GLC and Maddison may not have enough tackling and work rate as well, but creative intelligence would be off charts!

For the reasons above I think this is what it will be. A game/week too soon for VDV I think. Sarr away from home will cover more ground than GLC and Skip. Son will be skipper I feel and away from home his counter attacking pace will be preferred. Plenty of attacking options though, which is refreshing

I can see why Ange may not want to start Udogie and VdV next to each other, new to the league, haven't played together, although I'd love for Udogie to start.

Let’s get any issues re inexperience out the way today. Play both VDV and Udogie in defence. Otherwise we are just wasting time as they are going to play together in the end.

Celtic fans have warned us there might be a bit of pain in the very early games as players learn how to implement Ange’s philosophies whilst also being defensively sound and winning matches so let’s get it all out done at the same time.
