Right chaps & chapettes,

Lets forget about yesterday which was a pretty dark day for this season & look towards next weekend.

For me Man Utd play with a "flexible" 4-4-2, by which I mean that Rooney drops very deep & Giggs pretty much has a free role. For me in this game it is imperative that we control the CM area so would go with a 4-4-1-1 or 4-2-3-1 dependent on defending / attacking.

So my team below is based on all players fit:

Friedel

Walker - Kaboul - King - Assou-Ekotto

Modric - Sandro

Lennon - Van der Vaart - Bale

Adebayor

COYS!!!

Walker has withdrawn from the England squad. Adam Smith is back at the club, could he make his RB debut at Utd? Or will it be livermore/kaboul?

It could be more of a precautionary withdrawal, I'm hoping we'll still see him Sunday. I would go with the OP's team but like others have said with Dawson ahead of King.

Could do with a hastily-arranged midweek reserve game. Van Der Vaart and Sandro looked a million miles from the pace when they came on yesterday.

Its not easy sometimes to get into a game where the oppo are flying and when your own team are all over the place, i think they would have looked fine if they came on at HT and we were 2 up

OP's team for me. While Ledders had an off day against the scum, I wouldn't drop him for Dawson unless he's injured. And we have to go 4-5-1, with Bale playing as a fucking winger!

I'm quite interested to see the Sandro - Modders combo in the middle. When was the last time we saw that, was it Chelski away last season?

I dont know really at this stage. So many questions

Is Ledley going to be ready for the game?
Will Walker be fit?
Judging by how off the pace Sandro and VDV looked, can we start them? (Im guessing Sandro will have to, but can you then put VDV in there as well?)
Will Lennon play?

Think we will approach this match positively and being at home i'm sure Harry will set us up in a 442/4411 formation.

With this in mind, i'd hazard a guess at our starting 11 (injuries permitting) as;

Friedel

Walker Kaboul King BAE

Lennon Sandro Modric Bale

VdV

Adebayor

Seems most of us are agreed on the playing staff in the next game, injuries permitting.
Friedel
Walker King Kaboul BAE
Lennon Sandro Modric Bale
VDV
Adebayor

Havent seen enough of Saha to suggest he warrents a start (fitness wise) and Defoe cannot lead the line on his own.

If Walker is injured then Kaboul has to shift across, which does weaken us severly if King is also out. Dawson and Nelsen against the Champions? Jesus.

Adebayor is a cock. Brilliant on his day, disappears way too often, but unfortunately he is the best we have so cant drop him. Would suggest Redknapp is pissed off with him if Adebayor were to find himself on the bench. Maybe the kick up the arse he needs to push on for the rest of the season.

I fear for us if we lose this game. I really do. In our tough run in we'll have lost to City, Arsenal and Man U while scraping a point off Liverpool. Not good enough.
