Lloris;
Walker, Dawson, Chiriches, Rose;
Capoue, Bentaleb, Dembele;
Lennon, Adebayor, Eriksen.

Subs: Friedel, Vertonghen, Sandro, Holtby, Lamela, Townsend, Soldado.

Verts and Sandro to return from injury from the bench and help us see out the win.

Dembele is a MUST starter for me, almost everytime he has played against Yaya..........he has owned him.

Lloris
Walker Chiriches Vertonghen Rose
Dembele
Bentelab Eriksen
Lennon Adebayor Townsend
Verts at the back, Dawson not good enough against Augero. Dembele on Toure. Lennon and Townsend pinning back Zabaleta and Kolarov, who do a lot of damage for Citeh.

Like this team and to be honest its the one I'm expecting. Only thing might be, given City's power, would be to start Capoue in front of the back four and have Dembele and Eriksen slightly ahead as opposed to Bentaleb.

A toughie though as Bentaleb is tenacious and has been very good.

For the first time in ages I'll be reasonably confident whatever the team is. The only way I can see Sherwood changing the line-up would be to accommodate players like Sandro, Vertonghen, Townsend, and (highly unlikely) Lamela. Every one of them would most likely be better than the players they replace.

To be honest, I'd be very surprised if Tim drops Dawson for Verts, probably be Vlad who makes way. If he has the stones to drop the club captain I'll be very impressed.

Crucially the team will be a lot more confident now to. Fans and players both confident together enhance our chances immensely.

Its an evening kick off wish will definitely help us - a big atmosphere needed and long, long overdue at home. These are the occasions were the support can make all the difference. Would love to hear WHL bouncing - it gets into the heads of the officials as well, rub of the green with decisions etc.

Have no idea how this will go....we could lose 4-3 or win 4-3 lol

Should be a cracker.

Eriksen has been doing a great job as our playmaker. Notably today .

Why would he be stuck out on the left ?

I would go with

Lloris
Walker Chiriches Vertonghen Rose
Sandro
Lennon Eriksen Bentaleb
Chadli or Lamela or Paulinho
Adebayor

We can't isolate Adebayor in this game but I think playing 2 strikers would be too risky. This is a game for a number 10 who can support him while also dropping deep or left when needed. I doubt Paulinho will be fit ( I really think he would be great in that role ) and I don't think Tim will pick Lamela so I guess we'll see Chadli again.
I liked the Naughton for Lennon sub and he has to be on the bench

Friedel, Naughton, Dawson, Dembele, Townsend, Lamela, Defoe

Think there will be one or two changes from the team against Swansea but not many - it'll be evolution towards finding the 'best' team not revolution and there may well be a twist on the 4231/4411/433 team we played against Swansea.

The second we cannoy guess at, but the first ? The injury update on 10th said that Kaboul and Sandro were back in training. I can't see Kaboul being risked to start (after a year out and then a few games this season) , but Sandro maybe.(preferably after a Spurs X! game organised in the next week)?

Townsend and Holtby are likely also to be available - Townsend could be an upgrade on either wing either to start or off the bench. Lamela - I can't see this being a game for him, I'd suggest that Sherwood introduces him slowly when Sherwood thinks he's ready - and better in a settled team.

Vertonghen wasn't back in training on 10th and is a real wild card to be back or not. Unfortunately I'd suggest it maybe too early for Paulhino.

So my guess at a team in a 4411:

Lloris
Walker Dawson, Chirches, Rose
Lennon, Dembele, Sandro, Bentaleb
Eriksen
Adebayor

Subs : Freidal, Vertonghen, Naughton, Capoue, Townsend, Chadli, Soldado

Tough on Kaboul, Holtby, Sigurdsson, Lamela, Defoe and others, but we've got a big squad........and there's a game against Hull a few days later where squad rotation may help them to at least get on the bench.

Maybe Verts will come in for Rose? Possibility I guess and I'd probably be ok with it given Rose's performaces of late. I'm also skeptical of throwing vlad and verts in together for the first time (?) against Citys attack

I'd go 433:

Lloris
Walker VC/MD Verts Rose
sandro
dembele bentaleb
lennon____ eriksen
ade

We have definitely improved since our floggings by Citihad and Scousers and this game will be a measure of just how much we have improved.

A few payers returning from injury could just be the boost we need.

I'm presuming that Paulinho isn't available and Kaboul won't be dropped into the fray this early
