For me it will have to be

Lloris

Toby Wimmer Jan
Dier Davies
Winks Dembele
Alli Eriksen
Kane

Or swap Dier for KWP, and put winks on the bench as he doesn't look up to speed yet

-----------------------Lloris-----------------------
----------Alderweireld-Dier-Verts-------------
Sissoko----Dembele---Winks------Davies--
--------------Alli-----------Eriksen---------------
-----------------------Kane------------------------

Subs: Vorm, KWP, Wimmer, Janssen, ?, ?, ?

I guess we will see at least one of Son, NKoudou, Trippier or Wanyama on the bench. But probably we need to fill the space with TOB or Georgiou

It kinda snuck on me how thin our squad is. That bench looked awful.

We have an unusually high number of injuries for the start of a season but it's kind of annoying that we sold our RB for a record fee to a rival because we were confident in the 2nd choice being just as good, only for that 2nd choice to get injured without any back-up. There are enough weeks left in the transfer window, but what if Trippier got a nasty injury? We'd be held to ransom by other clubs. They would do to us, what we did to City when they released both their right-backs.

What's our injury list at the moment? Rose, Trippier, Wanyama, Son, Lamela... That's a lot of injuries but we should have a squad that can take those injuries.

Assuming all those injuries, I'd abandon 3-5-1-1 and go 4-5-1 as:

Lloris

Dier Alderweireld Vertonghen Davies

Winks Dembele

Eriksen Alli Sissoko

Kane
Will Sissoko even be at Spurs for Newcastle? I mean, what a shit show.

Given the state of our squad, he HAS to, right? But given how this window has gone, we couldn't be surprised if his departure announcement was tomorrow. What a mess.

I don't think Poch will start anyone Sunday who hasn't played in the past game or two, including Wanyama, although I think he'll make the bench, if fit.

I echo Chimbo's starting 11, with the only potential change being if Poch did go rogue with 3 at the back and Sissoko at RWB.

Bench will be laughable. Come back soon, injured lads. :(

The current market prices for a decent footballer is currently a disgrace.

We came second last year on a team with a sixth place (AT BEST) budget. We can't compete in the market with the teams around us. The market is inflated. We don't do business when the market is inflated like this, we can't afford it - we can sell, and get 50mil for a 30 mil player, but we sure as hell can't buy someone who is going to go into our first 11 as a starter at the moment for anything less that 35 million.

In a week, we can. At the moment, we can't.

I'm not buying that sentiment. There are players abroad that would improve us and want to come here. It's just a combination of scrimping and poor preparation that hinders us.

Javier Pastore is now available and earns 55k a week. He would most definitely improve us.

Players with PL experience are best, if not promoting from within.

We do look rather thin on the ground. I don't usually worry but I think any injuries are going to be costly.

Yes the market prices are ridiculous, but with a week to go, you would have thought we would be better prepared.

If Wanyama is out then Dier has to play midfield.
Wimmer comes into a back 3, Sissoko the RWB.

The more big lumps we have away to Newcastle the better, because they (newcastle) will be physical.
Away to a newly promoted side is the worst fixture you can have in the opening weeks - they will be so up for this.

I prefer it when we play 3 at the back but I think we will go for a back four against Newcastle.

Sissoko to score a hatrick, then take off his shirt to show t-shirt saying

"That's what £35m tastes like..."

If Sissoko doesn't start i'm going to run through my nearest Sainsbury's kicking randoms in the genital region.

I would have done it in Tesco's but the court order hasn't expired yet and Waitrose only has quality people in and they don't deserve that.

See now i was planning on doing the same, but only if he does start.

If Trippier is injured & assuming KWP isnt going to be given start (based on Poch comment)

Lloris
Dier, Toby,Jan,Davies
Winks, Dembele,
Sissoko, Eriksen, Dele,
Kane

If Wanyama is back, then Wanyama for Sissoko & move Dembele more forward

I think it'll be this, but if wanyama is back then I think I'd rather have winks pushed a bit further forward.

There is zero point in playing Dier as a wing back in a 3-5-2. If we play 3 at the back then Dier will be in the three or CM. He can play RB in a 4-4-2 / 4-2-3-1, but has neither the pace or the engine to play as a wing back. We'd be better off playing Sissoko or KWP there.

I personally think Poch will play 4-2-3-1 with Dier at RB and Winks partnering Dembele in CM, and Sissoko in the attacking trio on the right.

Loris
Dier Toby Verts Davies
Winks Dembele
Sissoko Eriksen Alli
Kane
