Strong. Three wins away from winning a trophy. Massive game.

I watched Stoke last month v Wycombe though. I would have kane and son on the bench and bring them on only if required. Stoke are agricultural in the extreme. Full of thugs who will be out to get our star players. If you thought they were bad in the PL they are 10 times worse now.

We can’t afford to rotate too heavy. Coming off two defeats if we then over-rotate and get dumped out of our most winnable competition that’s a hammer blow to not just our season but also our confidence. Stoke aren’t mugs as well. They’re a good Championship side in decent form who will be smelling the chance of an upset. Would also say they’re better than the sides in our Europa group who gave us bother when we let our focus slip. Have to go strong :

Lloris
Doherty Sanchez Dier Reguilon
Højbjerg Winks
Bergwijn Kane Son
Vinicius

Same 11 that played against Leicester, swap GLC for Bale.

They owe us a good performance. Dicks.

This is the quarter final of a cup we can win. Start as strong as possible or at least have Kane and Son on the bench.

I'm in a minority here but I don't even count the League Cup as a cup. It's the product of a cynical effort to make more money out of fans. It has no history, no respect and I'm sure 100% of Spurs players coming in from abroad never heard of it before they arrived so they probably don't care either.

Play the second string like we were doing in the ropey league and give the first string a bit of a rest to keep them fresh ahead of busy Premier League run of fixtures.

Serious question to people who want to go strong. Would you rather win 10 league cups or 1 league?
Obviously you'd rather win the league. Problem is we will not win the league this season. So in that case I'd rather win the match that puts us 180 minutes of football away from a trophy than ending the season potentially empty handed like we always did under Poch when we thought we were too big or important to play a full strength team in a cup game.

2 weeks ago we were top...
The only reason there is even a question to be raised about another team except Liverpool winning the league was because Van Dijk got injured. They are by far the best team in this country and it is not even close and they are now proving it once again without their first choice centre backs.

Once Van Dijk is back and it will be sooner then we are led to believe, they will win the league by at least a 15 point gap.

Kane supported by Son Tanguy Ali
Anchored by Hojbjerg and Sissoko/Winks
Back 4 of Davies, Dier, Sanchez, Doc

Be similar to the Poch days with Tanguy taking Eriksen role
Hojbjerg and Sissoko taking Wanyama and Dembele roles

It’s a cup QTR final - play our strongest team. However, our strongest team on Weds will be somewhat rotated from the weekend for freshness as a lot of players looked jaded, especially the FBs. Plus we don’t need Sissoko against a championship side who we should dominate. Is it too soon for Lamela?

Lloris
Doherty Toby Dier Davies
Højbjerg Ndombele
Bergwijn Dele Son
Kane

Subs: Hart, Aurier, Reguilon, Sanchez, Winks, Lamela, Moura, Bale, Vinicius
If we get a 2 goal lead rest Kane, Son and Højbjerg or Ndombele. Important to get Dele back with the injury to Lo Celso and so many games coming up with Ndombele and Lamela so fragile.
