In true Harry Redknapp mode. Just faaacking play Lloris and Adebayor.

AVB won't though. He'll play:-

Fatty
Walker
Gallas
Cauker
Jan
Lennon
Bale
Hudd
Sandro
Dempsey
Defoe

It'll be 0-0 at half time.

Even if Dembele is fit, I'd still not start him tomorrow, hoping we can still win it. No point in risking further aggravation of his condition prior to the more important games coming up.

They are all 3pts for a win. None more important than the other.

I really wish we'd switch to a 433.

I really hope we don't play Huddlestone, his lack of dynamism, mobility and incisiveness apart, he drags us about 15 yards deeper as a team.

I'd like to see something like:

------------------Lloris
Naughton Gallas Caulker Vertonghen

Perratt -------Sandro---------Carroll

Falque-------Adebayor--------Bale

With Lennon, Defoe, Pritchard - three players who could impact a game on the bench.

But I'm sure we'll see:

------------Fattyarbuckle
Walley-----Gallas-----Caulker----Vert

--------Sandro----Beffudledstone
Lennon------Dempsey---------Bale
------------Defunct

Really don't see how anyone can think Falque should play in behind the striker. Yes he's done well in a couple of games (albeit against relatively weak opposition) but neither time has he played in that position, and as far as I know he's very rarely, if ever, played there.

Unfortunately for him, Lennon and Bale are two players who I wouldn't drop at the moment, and that's where Falque's position is so it's the bench for him.

If Lloris doesn't start I'll be genuinely pissed off. Other than that the decision is between Siggi/Dempsey and Gallas/Naughton. Other than that we're a bit hamstrung in terms of choices. I'd go:

Lloris
Walker Caulker Vertonghen Naughton
Sandro Huddlestone
Lennon Sigurdsson Bale
Defoe
Obviously if Dembele and Adebayor are fit then they should come in for Hudd and Defoe, but I doubt we'll see either of them on Saturday.

Why? It's his natural position. He plays wide right & left cos he can but he is & always has been listed aand described as a CAM.

Even if that is true, I'm prepared to bet that nobody has seen him play in that position so saying he should replace two established premiership players must be based pretty much on guesswork and impatience.

It would be good if he could come off the bench tomorrow and show what he's made of, but starting him would be a massive risk.

100% Friedal starts on Saturday.

No doubt in my mind at all. Not even the shadow of a doubt. 100%. Take it to the bank.

And Lloris SHOULD start.

POTL thinks Dembele may be fit for Wigan

did he not post the other day. like Monday or Tuesday? - if he posted again, yesterday, late on maybe its not clutching...

His quote was on Tuesday saying that he failed a late fitness test against Southampton but was hopeful of being fit for Wigan.

Then AVB said he was't, so unless POTL has posted it again I think that was last thing we heard.

Until he said what the Official Site had already told us about Adebayor.

compensating for his own lack of experience i think AVB will chose the oldest team he can, starting with the GK.

that's what I thought but according to Shem Timothy he posted it on COYS yesterday...really hope he's back soon, we are ridiculously reliant on him

I think the confusion here, is that Timothy read it himself yesterday, not that POTL posted it yesterday.

We can win against Wigan without Dembele, so there's no point to risk him. If we do win then the match against Shitty will be a 6 pointer; and I'd then risk Dembele and try to steal a win which would help us close the gap between them and us to 1 point.

Is there any way we can somehow fool Huddlestone into thinking he played 15-20 minutes before the match starts? Seriously, it seems like that's how long he takes before he actually figures out that just hoofing the ball down the pitch isn't effective and he actually starts playing some smart, controllable balls.

Drop Gallas, move Vertonghen to CB and Naughton to replace him at LB. Lloris in goal. Having four fast defenders allows us to press the opponents as a team, from the back, and LLoris is 1000x better than Brad sweeping up behind the defence. The other plus side is that Vert and Caulker and both extremely good on the ball and will allow us to pass the ball out of defence, they can also drive forward occasionally which gives us momentum.

Hudd, Sandro and Siggy to play in midfield. The big problem so far with Hudd and Sandro is that they get in each others way. Hudd likes to drop deep just in front of the defence and play the quarter back role, Sandro does the same but to make himself available to intercept passes through the channels and to break up play. When they play together, because of them getting in each others way they tend to stay flat which prevents both of them playing to their strengths. Neither of them are used to making forward runs which hugely limits our passing options and makes us predictable, meaning we can't break sides down. What AVB has to do is pick one off them to play deep and one to push forward. Normally it would be Sandro, as a defensive midfielder, sitting deep. Instead though I think we would be more effective if Hudd took the deep role, dropped in the hole and sprayed the ball around for the likes of Bale, Lennon and Ade. Sandro could use his awesome physicality and engine to, with Siggy, press the oppo much higher up the pitch.

Finally Ade has to start. We need to see if he actually makes the big difference some of us can. Defoe can then come on for Siggy if it isn't working or for Ade if he's tired.

Or tell them to go run around abit. Whatever

If Adebayor is fit enough to start I hope we put something like this out;

Lloris
Naughton - Caulker - Gallas - Vertonghen
Huddlestone - Sandro
Lennon - Sigurdsson - Bale
Adebayor

I think with Adebayor up front we may see a completely different Sigurdsson, and I can't wait to see how he (or Dempsey) links up with Ade. And for gods sake, bench Friedel. Walker should be rested, he hasn't been his usual self lately. Vertonghen haven't looked great playing out of position either, but I think we should really bench Walker for this game.

Almost, but not quite. Could that side be any slower, duller, less competitive, creative than what we have watched most of this season so far. Wenger and Ferguson frequently promote from within. Some decent clubs in Europe do it. Right now we have the worst first team squad we've had for about 6/7 years. We've spent lots of time, money and energy developing these kids, what for ?

I wouldn't necessarily stick 3 or 4 in together in one go, but something's got to change. Huddlestone and Livermore are slow and predictable. Defoe and Dempsey are severely limited footballers. These players aren't going to take the club forward and we aren't going to go out and by four or five superstars, it took us 7 years to build the squad we've just dismantled.

Maybe promoting from within is one solution, even if only partial. Even if we discover only one or two of them will be good enough. That could save us £20m in fees/wages and earn us another 20m she we sell them eventually.

If it's good enough for managers like Ferguson and Wenger and clubs like Ajax why not us.
