Let’s get back to signing proper premier league players. Our French signings haven’t worked out too well and we are hopeless at signing strikers.

Barkley
Zaha
Evans

Zaha is superb and anything who thinks otherwise is daft

Zaha is the only player out of those I'd take.
On the evidence of today's game against city we need ball carrier.
Our midfield was anonymous against them, and when we had the ball in midfield none of our players could carry the ball forward without losing the ball.

No wonder we lost. We couldn't keep possession of the ball going forward.

I don't know if many quality players who can carry the ball forward and dribble past players, but if there are any out there we need that type of player.

I’d definitely take Zaha, but I think more pressing is the need to buy a true quality centre midfield option, unfortunately we won’t do it in January.

We need some quicker players and also players who can creatively pass the ball under pressure when we are attacking. We make so many poor decisions in the final third it's appalling. Some of our players kidding themselves they can go to Madrid and Barcelona!!

Do we really need Zaha ?

Most weeks we don't play the type of counter attacking football that isolates players like Zaha against defenders, which is what you need to do to make them really effective. So most weeks we already have players like Eriksen, Alli, Son, Lamela that suit the way we play most weeks better. And if you don't play Zaha every week, he's not going to enjoy his football and you won't get the best out of him when he does play anyway.

We already have Nkoudou, who brings exactly the same skill set as Zaha, just four years younger Zaha. And if we want something else different on our bench we could start putting Edwards on there, he's already more intelligent in terms of his final ball decision making than Zaha who hasn't got a single assist to his name this season.

And when we have played cuunter attacking football (Real Madrid eg) we proved that you don't need what Zaha has to kill teams off.

Nkoudou and Zaha aren' on the same level.

Ones a PL player and the other would struggle for gametime in the championship.

I know they are not at the same level now, but they are very similar players who do very similar things, one is just 4/5 years down the line and plays every week, which Nkoudou would be doing if he was at a club like Palace or back in France, which is why we paid 12m for him I guess ?

My point was that Zaha isn't going to start most weeks either, so why not just stick with Nkoudou if we want to bring on a pacey, driblling trickster and in a couple of years we'll have our own Zaha, who by the way, is still massively flawed - just like Nkoudou will probably be in 4 years time.

The goal Nkoudou scored last week - and the performance - was very typically Zaha a couple of years back. Lots of dribbling, erratic end product and a goal.

Every time someone mentions the fact we need a CM it fucking pains me that we sold Bentaleb. I know some didn't like him but I had so much belief that the lad would go right to the very top

Think it was more an issue with his attitude and Pochettino’s not being on the same page.

Shame as he has attributes we could do with

Feels like all the sudden our squad needs a lot of reworking. I don't even want to think about if Alderweireld doesn't sign a new contract.

I just can't understand where this bad attitude appeared from though. He gave 110% every time he put the shirt on, apparently trained like an absolute demon and from what he said in interviews he always came across as a guy determined not to stagnate and always push himself to improve. Just seemed like a born winner to me and I hate to lose players like that. Especially with how highly I rated his ability to go with it too. Would love to know more because I just find it so hard to imagine him having a bad attitude! Even now if you listen to his interviews at Schalke he seems to have the exact same appetite to be the best he can possibly be

Lots of ITK reports in the 6 months leading up to him leaving us that he had a huge entourage to his contract meetings and was acting the superstar.

No idea if true and the fact he is still doing well suggests there was something there.

Don't know the ins and outs of him leaving so won't blame either side. Shame though as we could do with him right now.

I don’t think it does. Kovacic and Zaha would make a huge difference. Not saying we will sign these players or that we should, just giving an example of how just a couple of proper signings could make such a difference.

Remember the impact Payet had at West Ham? Sometimes it only takes one player

Tottenham face £30million transfer bill as they chase Fulham's Ryan Sessegnon to replace Manchester United target Danny Rose

Teen left-back would cost £20m — with twin brother and team-mate Steven, who would be loaned back, another £10m

Tottenham will have to pay £20million if they want Ryan Sessegnon as the replacement for wantaway Danny Rose .

England left-back Rose is expected to quit north London for Manchester United next month in a £50m deal, and 17-year-old Sessegnon is the Fulham man wanted to fill the gap.

Although, there will be stiff negotiating to be done as Spurs also want twin brother Steven included in the deal.

The England youth international, who can play in defence or midfield, would cost another £10m.

Tottenham are in pole position, having been tracking the brothers for more than two years.

They would let Steven stay at Fulham for another 18 months, but want Ryan next month if they can agree terms.

I’d happily do that deal. His brother is pretty good too

Old news, if you been following itk. We want brother end of season to train with us, then take a view on 6 month loan option. Certainly motv28 months from what I know.
