I don't know if it's reading over 100 pages of Celtic fans almost crying with excitement, watching this video and thinking about where I was and how it felt when he scored some of the goals, or just me playing Always On My Mind by Elvis Presley, but I feel sad.

I've never been the biggest Robbie fan. I always said he was good, but could be improved on. 18 months ago, I wanted to flog him so that we could bring Arshavin in, and if truth be told, I kind of hoped that he'd be moved on this window too. He's not been at his best since he came back, but watching that video, you realise how many good times we shared.

I remember feeling our Champions League push was falling apart in front of my eyes against West Brom, when out of nowhere, Robbie executes the most fantastic of chips to bring us level, before dragging us kicking and screaming to a 3-1 win, keeping the dream alive. I remember his all round performance in the 3-2 win against Blackburn - one of our main rivals in 05/06. Whatever he did recently at Spurs, I'll never forget how he so brutally removed Defoe from Jol's Tottenham team and almost single handedly had us finishing a whisker from the Champions League, in what was one of the most pleasurable times, in my lifetime anyway, to be a Tottenham fan.

I think it was the right time for Robbie to go, for both the player and the club. He was no longer a first choice starter at Spurs, and he'll go to Celtic not only as the club's star player, but as the League's star player. He'll be center of attention, and Robbie thrives on that.

I'll be honest, I feel like a bit of the Tottenham Hotspur I've learnt to love has left the club today. No matter what you thought or think about Robbie, we had some seriously good times together.

Go get yourself a League title, fella.

To Robbie

Great thread. It'll surely bring a tear to Dougall's eye. Bless his cotton socks.

Good luck Keano.

We all dream of a team of Robbie Keanes...

It's a loan move. He's not gone for good unless Celtic can stump up the cash and according to some on here they can't afford him so we may see Robbie pt III yet.

It still feels like he's got unfinished business with us yet.

Well said and repped!

Watching some of Keane's 05/06 performances were part of what helped me choose Spurs when I was looking for a team after the world cup. He was a fantastic servant for the club and was gutted by the Keane/Berbatov departure sucker punch. I was pleased to see him return but he really hasn't been quite the same and, while not that bad, his performances this season just haven't been good enough to earn regular playing time.

Hope he takes the SPL by storm and we'll see what the future brings.

I going to miss him, hope he does comes back, but for his career it might be better if he stays at Celtic. Harry is right in saying a player of his quality should be starting games.

BTW, who else has the Tottenham calender? Guess who's Mr February!

Glad he is off 'cos his form has been p*ss poor ever since leaving the first time, but best of luck to him, sure the SPL will do him the world of good.

Already stated the other week the possible reasons why Keano has not rekindled his glory days with us and had lost some of the support he once had. Good luck to him and there is no doubt he will be well and truly appreciated up at Celtic.

Hopefully he'll be back, and find some better form than he has this season. I believe, although most will probably disagree, that he was an integral part of our upturn in form last season.

Will always remember this piece of sheer genius as well.

The possible reasons are: people are stupid; people are stupid and people are thick.

Great thread 'Stophe. I truly want to believe that this fires him up to come back to us next year. But the ungrateful ****-mob that sit rather worryingly in the majority at White Hart Lane probably won't care if he scores 1 or 100 goals in Scotland. Mainly because they're ****s.

Good luck Robbie. Come back for the ones that actually know a thing or two.

Disappointted he has gone. I think he brings something different and works a lot harder than people give him credit for.

However, this season he hasnt looked quite right. Not so fluid in his movement, half a yard slower in the mind as well as on the ground. He hasnt connecting to anyone as well as he did with Berbatov, and I think he is a player who needs to play constantly to get the best out of him as he needs time to build these partnerships.

As soon as Harry made Crouch first choice Keane was always going to struggle to show why he should come back in.

Cant help feel we will ultimately suffer from his departure at this point in the season. Oh well, all the best Robbie

Sadly, his head and heart were never properly in it second time around. I intend to gloss over part II and remember all the amazing moments from his original spell....of which there were many.

My favourite goal wasn't in there, at home to Leeds, edge of the box, outside of the boot, right into the top far corner.

Thanks for the memories Keano.

He'll be back.

This is what he needs - time to rediscover what that bearded bastard at Anfield crushed: Robbie's spark.

He'll go to Celtic, set the SPL on fire, remember why he's such a great footballer and return to smash them in at the Lane again.

This is what I believe.

Redknapp is sending him there so he can reignite his career; recapture his form. I fully expect him to do that, and then return to us and prove a point to all the doubters.

If that's the goal I'm thinking of it was my first time at WHL and a 2-0 win with Sheringham scoring the other goal, shortly after Keane had signed?

Screw bringing a tear to Dougals eye, this video (one I've posted in a few anti-Keane threads over the past year) has me blubbing, especially as I'm in the middle of a Robbie Keane Tribute poem
