Good work 1882 , I sat in lower south right at the front and what where the steward playing at they ruined the game for me, kept saying sit down then stood in my way, they are ruining the atmosphere not the fans, disgrace
To be fair, they will be doing what the club has told them to do; and the club will be doing what it has been told to do by HSE, the police and other bodies. So it's ultimately the fault of those who won't change the law to allow standing areas - and those who insist on strict enforcement of compelling people to sit - who are to blame rather than the stewards.

Again another disappointing game where to be honest dispite going 1 down early we should have beaten them! First of I believe avb is the right man for the spurs job!! let's not forget the talent he can attract and is highly respected internationally... Evidently we need to bring in more talent!!!!! But the problem is he has bought like for like players which means competition is high and also I think that creates selfish players i.e Townsend !! Who would rather go for the glory and shoot rather then feed the team a create for saldado just trying to secure his spot rather then care about the team I couldn't give a toss whether he plays for England this guy is not better then lamela who I think is technically better in the last third of the pitch and I just can't understand why he doesn't play!!! £30million !! In order for him to settle he has to play the games, just as he gave paulhino the games he should of done so for eriksen and lamela from the start as I believe when they gel this will be spurs great threat!! Siggy is not good enough!! People screaming for Defoe ! I don't think so we need to strengthen in jan for sure !! The way this going we won't get top four, coz our players are more concerned with getting in the team then playing as one! Take out Townsend and his selfish big head and play lamela and Lennon on the wings with eriksen in the middle behind saldado !!!

I believe there is going to be a small-ish group of us going to Brisbane Road for the FA Youth Cup game against Middlesbrough.

2nd December, 7pm kick off, £5 on the door to get in.

Obviously if the word gets round, then it will be more than a small group!

Were you there last night? If so, what was the 1882 turnout? 100 or so?

Photos seem to suggest that the players were appreciative anyway.

100 is probably pretty accurate.

I really hope someone got a photo of this, but when Ogilvie scored his first, the whole team deliberately came over to our corner and celebrated in front of us. Was pretty awesome!

4:25 in this video for the best Spurs song of all time:

John McDermott (youth team coach) had this to say:

John was also appreciative of the Spurs fans in attendance – and was delighted that club skipper Michael Dawson also got involved to support the lads on the night.

We were speaking afterwards about the positive impact that the fans had on the players and on the general atmosphere – it was fantastic for both teams,” John said.

I’d like to thank the people for turning up to support us and creating a really positive atmosphere for us to play in. I don’t think there’s many clubs that would have that level of fans’ support – I think that’s quite unique for a Youth Cup game

“And when you’ve got a club captain like Michael Dawson who turns up beforehand, goes in with the players and spends a considerable amount of time afterwards with every player – I think it’s very special.

“For the club captain not only to turn up but to spend as much time afterwards as he did with the individuals I think would be very, very rare among Youth Cup ties and under-18 games. The crowd and Michael being there, and his genuine authentic interest in the players, added another dimension to a very positive evening.”

So, once again, well done to the 1882 Movement. Top men.

To add to that, these quotes from the Ginger Pele:

Connor’s second goal was a sublime free-kick that sailed into the top corner – and the youngster admitted it was a great feeling to celebrate in front of the roaring Spurs fans, who were present in their numbers to support the lads on Monday.

“It’s a great feeling, scoring two and winning 2-1,” he went on. “It’s an absolutely fantastic feeling. It was a bit of a shock to see them (the supporters) here actually – I didn’t think there was going to be that many people, but it was a real confidence booster.”

Wow, what a load of tripe this article is from the guardian:

Revealed: Tottenham combatting fan group trying to improve atmosphere

http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/dec/05/tottenham-fan-group-atmosphere

It explicitly says that it is Haringey bloody council that are trying to ban the 1882. Journalists never like facts to get in the way of a good story. I don't expect this level of mediocrity from the Guardian.

I do. The Guardian has got progressively worse the last few years.

Revealed: Tottenham combatting fan group trying to improve atmosphere
• Minutes of Tottenham Safety and Advisory Group revealed
• Spurs say they are working closely with group to solve issues

Tottenham Hotspur are actively taking steps to try to combat the "unacceptable" behaviour of a supporters' group set up to improve the much-criticised atmosphere at White Hart Lane, according to documents seen by the Guardian.

The latest minutes of the Tottenham Safety and Advisory Group (SAG) reveal the club are concerned about an organisation of supporters who want to bring the noise back to the stadium on the back of André Villas-Boas's comments that it is too "anxious and negative".

The 1882 movement, set up by the Fighting Cock fanzine and podcast, encourages supporters "to sing as loud and as long as our lungs will let us". However, the minutes reveal there are moves being made behind the scenes to try to prevent the people behind it gathering in a designated area of the ground.

Bob McIver, head of building control at Haringey council, has written to Darren Eales, the Spurs director of football administration, to put the club "on warning" about this group. According to the documents, the club have decided they will not be allowed to go into J block, as they did for the recent Capital One Cup tie against Hull City. McIver's view is that "this group have to be monitored at future fixtures" and, since that meeting, the relevant supporters have been moved to another area behind one of the goals.

Tottenham have been speaking to their Supporters' Trust about the problem with the atmosphere and the club say they want to work closely with 1882 group. McIver is "aware it is hard to stop this group getting seats together as they arrange this among themselves via social media".

Sue Tilling, Tottenham's safety officer, depicts the 1882 movement as "a group of supporters aged 15 to 25 who are trying to improve the atmosphere at White Hart Lane". The SAG is "fully aware this fixture [against Hull] came just after AVB's interview regarding the lack of atmosphere at the stadium". However, there were reports of people standing, against stewards' instructions, and they "will therefore not be allowed to buy seats in this area". The group "stood and migrated [and] this is not acceptable".

The 1882 group was set up in the 2011-12 season, originally for youth-team and under-21 fixtures. According to its website, "the aim of the 1882 movement is to support our team and the shirt they play in and to sing as loud and as long as our lungs will let us. We want to hark back to the days before the Premier League, when how loud you sang and how passionate you became wasn't dependent on how well Tottenham were playing. We simply want to make noise and get behind the team, which hopefully creates a more enjoyable match-day experience."

The SAG meeting took place on 5 November, including representatives from Metropolitan police, the ambulance and fire services and the Sports Ground Safety Authority. West Ham's supporters were identified as having caused the most issues at White Hart Lane this season because of "increased, organised problematic fans". Their followers were "not the best to deal with and had ignited a smoke bomb".

So this is as a result of a complaint from someone at Haringey council ?

The club should be doing all it can to help and promote the 1882 IMO. Can only be a good thing surely ?

I find this story incredibly misleading.

The way I have read it is like this:

Haringey Council guy complained based on safe standing or health and safety in a stadium.
Spurs had a duty to discuss it at a meeting.
1882 won't be allowed in J block for whatever reason.
Spurs (ALL clubs) do not want groups of fans standing and moving from their designated seat.
Spurs want to speak to the group to work out a compromise.

Headline: Tottenham combatting fan group.

Is that the municipal government of Tottenham, the town/area of Tottenham, or the club. Headline suggests it is the club, the actual story suggests otherwise. The story suggests the club want to find a solution that satisfies everyone.

We need safe standing area factored into the new stadium. Simple. Fans obviously demand it. Supply to the demand.

Also, modern living is apparently being dictated by Political Correctness fascism, sterilization of character and total control and nullification of any sort of spirit and joy of being alive and any expression of such.

Resist.
