I would like to think that most of us sensible Spurs fans recognise the excellent job AVB has done in his first season in charge.

I have created this thread for any comments and statistics that you would like to use as a rebuttal to any 'Souness listening Sun readers' that try and tell us we have regressed as a club since last year and that we would be better off with Harry Redknapp in charge.

I picked a couple of obvious ones to start off with and I hope to see this thread with pages upon pages of reasoning as to why we as a club have made genuine progress, vindicating Levy's decision in the summer to hire AVB. (It may not always be pretty but 2 defeats in 20 games is unheard of for a 25 year old who grew up with us flirting with relegation and mid -table obscurity.)

This is of course irrespective of whether we obtain UCL next year...although I will be the biggest Wigan fan this Tuesday.

COYL!

Here we go....
  • AVB has helped progress Gareth Bale's game and turned him into a genuine all-round world class talent.
  • We have won more away games this season than any other in our PL history (10)
  • We have the opportunity to break our total points tally in PL history (72?)
  • Andre Villas-Boas is better looking than Harry Redknapp

Always wanted him at the spurs since his achievements in Portugal. Has worked miracles without to much complaining, imaging having Harry in charge this season the amount of complaining hee would be doing to the media?
With the right tools this season we wouldn't be sitting in 4th.

Quickly becoming a real asset to the club in the same company as Lloris and Bale. He could become the biggest.

I wish he would have said "We're down to the bare bones" at least once for old times sake.

Why do we always have to turn these threads into an AVB vs Harry? Both have done well for us, appreciate both.

No team will do the double over us this year. Likely to achieve 72 points in first season. 10 away wins in league.

Some very positive reasons to be dry optimistic about the next couple of years. A top striker and creative midfielder and we would almost be there.

If he gets us above Arsenal this year he's a fucking legend. Simple as really.

I know. I wish we had both; one to provide the dossiers and intensification and one to tell players to run round a bit and tell them they're triffic.

-Isn't tactically inept
-Well spoken
-Has won big trophies in past
-Got us our first win against United for a long long time, and away as well (will only be a matter of time till we do the same to Chelsea)

He has instilled in our team the ability to score late on.

its not the score during the game that counts, its the score when the game is finished.

Who would have thought a man with a ginger beard would be our saviour
