I think Spurs fans can deny it all they want, there is clearly something not right at Spurs at the moment. I personally believe this is Pochettino’s last season and he might even walk before. As they say, there is no smoke without fire. Things have been a bit off with Poch for months. Ally Gold can talk all he likes, but everyone can see there is issues right now within the club. Pochettino has a completely different attitude and it’s very noticeable. Hoping it all blows over and we go on a great run, but something tells me lose to Arsenal and I think the walls will start tumbling down.

Story was that apparently he went speaking to Newcastle behind the scenes, Levy bought him a Porsche and he was allegedly a ungrateful about it and sold it on almost straight away, which pissed off plenty of people at the club.

@KETTERING SPUR - it's a fact that was confirmed by Jol, so no idea why you are disagreeing with reality.

He was also sacked during a EL game while he was in the dugout. Basically the crowd knew he was sacked before he did, and we were caught red handed by the press with Ramos and his representatives.

Now whether he talked to Newcastle behind the scenes which prompted us to act or we were actively trying to replace him before hand I don’t know, but what I do know is that goes down for me as one of the most classless things we’ve done in the Levy era.

Poch is going absolutely nowhere, regardless of Sunday’s result, emirates being a place we don’t tend to do well at.
This is a rut, a rut that I 100% believe Poch and the players will get us out of.
We’re not going to part ways with the best manager we’ve had in the best part of 30 years at the first sign of trouble.
Have faith, Poch is the man!!!

As this is a discussion forum, it's great to give our views on what could have gone wrong. But after the discussion, let's just support the team and stop the blaming of Poch, Levy or certain players.

My view is that Poch said he was rebuilding. Unfortunately our expectation is we will improve from where we stopped. What if it meant we have to move backwards as we assimilate new players, key players leave, tactics change? Poch still has things to learn. Maybe as he tries out his ideas, it's not working. He's stuck and frustrated. The players are frustrated. Poch us frustrated players are frustrated. The gloom is there as there's no solution. It will take a season to get there. It is rebuilding, even if it means we drop out of top 4.

So let's hope for Poch to get a solution and see some flowing football!

I imagine it was Poch's belief and objective to at this present moment be in a situation in which he had the team he wanted, minus any distractions with players he wanted out or players with contract issues.

The Eriksen and Toby situations both rumbled on, he probably accepted Rose was gone a long time ago, Wanyama has been around but again the club probably accepted he was done a long time ago.

I imagine all of these negative aspects have rumbled on and on and with every moment he thinks "right, now we can kick on" something else negative happens and each time it grinds him down more and more.

...and if players are grumbling it will only add to the weight.

He could be doubting whether he'll ever be free from the issues and it's dampening his usual positive outlook.

Yes, of course our expectation is that we will improve. It's a shit plan if it involves us getting worse.

Rebuilding and evolving as a team is one thing, but we really shouldn’t need to tear the whole house down, go backwards and more or less start again, including dropping out of the top four.

Especially after building a new state of the art stadium, which is intended to actually raise the profile of the club.

This is a good point as this was supposed to be the season that we really kicked on and challenged. Unfortunately it’s coincided with a few variables outside of our control and with the two juggernauts in City and Liverpool even just a few points behind at this stage can be insurmountable. Fergie's, Wenger’s and Mourinho’s teams never came close to amassing the points these two have in the league recently.

Not sure if this has been posted but Hertyid tonight on COYS

‘Poch has not fallen out with Levy. Far from it.

Poch has not lost the dressing room. There has been some difference of opinion apparently but Poch always valued strong opinions, especially from senior pros. Kane spends countless hours in Poch's office discussing tactics. Jan is probably the most vocal member of the squad. Poch has never had issue with this.

NOW> Opinion.

Poch has seemed distracted for some months now, probably going back to February. I don't know why. He is clearly deeply rooted in our club and he feels that this is his project, his baby. So to say he doesn't care or has moved on emotionally/mentally is wrong. But something is up. I remember seeing him the day after the CL Final and he was visibly upset. Not just for himself but for the club, for his players, for the fans. But at the same time we have seen elements of Poch we don't like going all the way back to him losing it at Burnley, his comments about maybe leaving if we win the CL, his negative attitude towards the transfer window etc. It's not the Poch we know and it's not doing him or us any favours. DL went out on a limb and secured the players he wanted this summer, almost bagging Dybala in the process. So there can't be any doubt that he has been backed, or that the DL/MP partnership has deteriorated in any way. I don't know what's going on, I don't know MP and I don't know his family, I don't know most of the players. I just hope that whatever is going on, he can get back on the horse and lead us back to the form we showed in 2016/2017/2018 because really, one CL run aside, 2019 has been miserable.

Poch could just be facing burn-out, mental fatigue is a real thing. Maybe the guy wants to take an extended break and walk away from the game for a while? It is a pretty intense profession to be in really. Fucks knows...but this isn't the end. We are just getting started! Poch is the best thing that has happened to this club for a long while, but if he did leave then we would survive and carry on. I wouldn't start to panic yet really.

I do think the two seasons at Wembley really took it out of him physically and mentally. He looked exhausted by the end of last season. A manager staying six years at one club is almost a total rarity these days, probably for this reason entirely.

For me we should have parted ways in the summer. Saying before the CL final if we win he will quit is diabolical and should never have come out of his mouth. Saying it you an dismiss it as a joke. He then backed it up on the eve of the game. Then in the build up to this season stated again he would have quit if we had won that game. Sorry that is unforgivable. How can you motivate and lead players if they know they gaffer was 90mins from quitting and leaving. Why should the players be loyal if the gaffer is openly talking about quitting. Real winners want more and to prove it's not a fluke or lucky win. He was basically saying they arent good enough to win anything again so I'm off. Also you play your best players. Not your favs. If Jan isnt in the starting XI this weekend then the stadium at next home game will be toxic. Sanchez been at fault for 3 goals so far. Rose has been really poor as well. It's no coincidence we have looked shocking down the left side. Rose has no understanding with Sanchez. Sanchez keeps drifting to far to the right and isnt dragging rose with him. Rose has been shocking but when you tell a player you dont want him wheres his motivation. Aurier should be starting RB at the weekend but again been totally mismanaged. The buck for a lot of this stops with Poch. Hopefully we turn up sunday and go into the international break and everyone can take a long hard look at themselves and kick on.
